Well, my first attempt at a fanfic. Let's see how it goes.
Rated teen for violence, and action scenes. It also may be pretty dark in spots.

Prologue:
The year is 3013. The world is in the middle of a dangerous war.
So far, WWVI has affected 70% of the world. It all started when officials from Unova attacked the quiet country Rotke for apparently no reason. Now it has grown to a full-out war, and most fighters don't know what they are dying for.
But there were a few places unaffected by war. Mogni was one of those places. It was a quiet village in the middle of the desert. Humans and Pokémon lived in harmony. However, they were not completely safe.
Their danger was the Land Shark, a brown entity that swam through land and caused damage wherever it went. The only safe place to be when it comes along is on top of the Cliffs of Alder. The times when it attacks are unpredictable.
Other than that, Mogni was a quiet town. Nobody expected a hero to rise from it. However, all of that is about to change…

Chapter 1:
It was a normal day in Mogni. Everyone was just minding their own business, when…
"The Land Shark has been spotted!" yelled one of the town elders. Everyone knew the drill: run up the Cliffs of Alder and watch your town get destroyed. Everyone did as such. Then the Land Shark came.
"Here it is! I've been waiting for this! I'll destroy the Land Shark!" Tom lost his grandpa to the Land Shark so he wanted to destroy it. Tom was brave and heroic, but he never thought ahead. All he brought with him was his Pokémon and a pocketknife.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" While Tom jumped right into stuff and did things without thinking, Jeremiah, his best friend, always considered everything and was very smart. After considering everything, he decided that it would be best to help his friend.
"Don't know if you guys are brave or just plain stupid, but I guess a friend's gotta help a friend." Chloe was the oldest of the group at 18 (Tom and Jeremiah were 17) and definitely the strongest (even though Tom thought he was). Having lost her parents to the Land Shark, she was like a sister to Tom and Jeremiah.
The trio made it down the cliff. A safe distance from the Land Shark, the trio started to send out their Pokémon. "Go, Trapinch!" said Tom. When Trapinch was out of its Pokéball, Tom said "Use Sand Tomb!"
Sand flew everywhere. "Nice going, Tom! I can barely see the Land Shark now," Jeremiah said. After Tom withdrew Trapinch, Jeremiah said "Well, let's see what I can do. Go, Solosis!"
All of a sudden, Solosis popped out. "Use Psyshock!" Solosis tried to use its psychic energy on the Land Shark, but it didn't work. "Solosis, return," said Jeremiah.
The Land Shark was done trashing the village and started going away. "Oh no you don't!" yelled Tom as he clang to the Land Shark.
"No, Tom!" yelled Chloe as she clang to the Land Shark.
"Oh, great," said Jeremiah as he clang to the Land Shark with them.
It would be hard to tell how far they went because suddenly, the Land Shark went at a ludicrous speed. Until one second…
CRASH!
"Where are we?" asked Tom.
"We're in some sort of cave," said Chloe. "But look at this." The Land Shark, now broken down, was right next to them. A compartment opened to reveal some wires.
"The Land Shark is a machine," said Jeremiah. "A pretty old one too."
"I suppose this won't do any harm," said Tom, holding his pocketknife.
"DON'T DO IT!" said Chloe and Jeremiah in unison.
"Too late," said Tom. He cut the wires inside the Land Shark. Just then…
Zap!
"Oww," said Tom.
"You actually deserved that one," said Chloe. Right after she said that, she disappeared under a beam of light. Then Jeremiah disappeared!
"Oh no! That must mean-"
Then Tom disappeared under the beam of light.
