That's pretty crazy. 1.5 million posts. People just KNOWING what "shipping" is. People getting into hot debates over what may or may not happen in the anime at any given time. Talk of the TCG, games, current, old, and new, and more. We all love Pokemon, and it shows.

You have to admit, the show is a little childish. Yet we all (well, not all, but quite a few of us) watch it religiously. Quite a few of us are probably over 18 too. (I know I am, I'm 20).

Why do you like Pokemon? What does it mean to you?

I know this forum is Pokemon World, and that means the actual Pokemon world, but... isn't our world a Pokemon World too?

I know why I love Pokemon. I didn't have many friends growing up and I always had my Pokemon games and show to play and watch with my brother. Fun times. We played the TCG too. Haha. I've been with it since the beginning, and the idea is ingenious. The competitive battling is unimaginably fun, and the show just always makes me smile, no matter how bad the puns are or how childish it may seem at times.

I remember when I bought my first booster deck and got a Giratina and a Giratina Level X. Happy times, happy times.

I didn't know what a Level X was then...

I thought I had duplicates.
 
Pokémon is my escape from reality.

I love the games. I blame my cousin as he gave me his Red version all those years ago, which made me addicted. I haven't grown out of it, not that I really care. XD
 
I remember when I went to my first Regional tournament.

My brother was in the kids tournament and I was in the adult one (barely made the cutoff age for it. I felt so manly ;D )

But I didn't place at all, and my brother got 13th place so he won 6 booster packs and I got nothingggg. )= So he gave me a pack because he felt bad for me.

Guess what I got? A holographic AND a Shiny Mewtwo. XD This is when Shiny Cards just came out. He was all "OMFG WTF THAT'S MY PACK GIVE IT BACK!"

;D I didn't give it back. But I actually did give it to him a week later lol. :p
 
It's like why we like any videogame. It gives us a chance to experience something that we'd never normally get to do.

It's more than just a game, wouldn't you agree?
 
Um, its fun, addicting, fun during free time, and the whole thought of little creatures scrapping one another is just cool.

yes, they treat them as they were real

and i like that.

They make each one special in thier own way

with habitats and everything
 
What I like in videogames is traveling and exploring, fighting against and along magical creatures, and just enjoy the wonderful world the game presents.

Given the nature of the pokemon games, which specifically focuses on that, it's quite obvious that I'd really like it.


But I don't like the anime, and I haven't really looked much on the other media...
 
What I like about the games is the whole leveling factor. You can level every Pokemon. It's a lotttt of fun. You get stronger as you level your Pokemon more and more. Wooo. [: The story is also something I love. Even though the story really isn't huge, I do enjoy them.
 
Except when they added Garchomp into the OU metagame. ;D

But totally. So balanced it's crazy. They did a fantastic job on it. Totally worthy of all this fandom. <3
 
Pokemon just sparks my imagination and always has. When the 'craze' came out I found it hard to get into, it seemed I didn't properly get into it until after and that was totally uncool... But I still like it. Despite being with it since the first gen, I'm not a nostalgic retard who gets pissed at every new gen. I love the new gens. I think all of the designs are really clever. I love to design my own fakemon so I actually study the design processes to try and create my own believable Pokemon, I just wish I had more artistic talent...

I love the games and the manga series, that whole mythos is genius in my opinion and it's completely misrepresented by a money whoring franchise and the god-awful anime that makes me want to shoot things. I love games where you can become expertly and despite metagame being full of jerks, idiots and /b/tards I still love the concept of metagame. I'm not actually that good at it myself, but I still love it if that makes sense? I'm weird.

Um, those are my reasons yeah.

I have to disagree that it's balanced, though. There would not be tiers if it was balanced. They do work to balance it through additional evolutions, though, but it's far from perfect.
