Weird Breeding!

Once, I put a drifbloom and a spritomb in the pokemon daycare in Solaceon Town i my pearl game. The drifbloon was male and the spritomb was female. But I got a pokemon egg! The spritomb and drifbloon had a baby spritomb. I thought it would be a bad egg. But now, I breed a lot of different pokemon species.
 
That's nice? They're in the same Egg Group. How is that "weird"?

It's Drifloon too, by the way.

Wait- what if you had a female Skitty? HOW THE HELL COULD THAT GIVE BIRTH TO A WAILMER?????????????? If you bred a Nidoran F and Nidoran M, would they breed a pokemon, because they're genderless?
 
Nidoran♀/♂ isn't genderless... and they can breed- in fact, Nidoran♀ is the only one in its family (Nidorina and Nidoqueen can't breed for some reason) that can breed.
 
Actually, a female Skitty will always have a Skitty. Nidoran aren't genderless, their genders are right in their name.
 
I still say the weirdest breeding pair is Zangoose/Seviper.

...Everyone uses Skitty/Wailord, come on.
 
I managed to get an egg from two pokemon that "Preferred to play with other pokemon rather than eachother" and it was about 50 steps or so after I put the two pokemon in the daycare in Soleceon town that I got egg. I think one pokemon was a ludicolo and I don't remember the other one. Can this happen in D/P? I still have to hatch the egg on my pearl game
 
Actually, its probably a randomized thing basard on the number of steps taken, I maybe wrong though its just a theory. Here's an example, you walk 3993 steps when you put a two Pokemon that prefer to play with others, the egg appears when you reach 4000 steps. It could be something like that... its just a theory though.
