Lately, within the past week, whenever I click on a link someone gives in a messenger window, it doesn't open in a new window. Instead, it goes there from whatever IE window I have open at the time. And it gets really annoying if I'm writing something or playing a game--it just did that twice when I was on Neopets just now, it opened in the window where I was playing a game!

I didn't change any settings on either of my messengers (MSN and Trillian), nor on anything else. How do I get it back to where it'll open the links in a new window?

You can try switching your default browser to one that you don't regularly use so when you have your browser open, and then you click on a link, it'll open in a different one and won't redirect the page that your current browser is in.

Usually you can change this in the options menu. I know that in Firefox, you can choose to open links in a new window, new tab or in an existing window.

Hope that helps.

Well, since you're using IE, chances are you'll never know what really happened. Have you tried right-clicking on the links and selecting "Open in New Window?"

Does that even work on IE?

I really recommend switching to Firefox.

But I want it to open in a brand new window, not one I already had open.

Well... If it opens in another browser, which wasn't open before, wouldn't it be considered opening it in a new window? But other than that, I'm not sure what you should do.

@Helmasaur King: Try reading the first post before you reply. Also, Firefox phails horribly. It doesn't even pass the acid2 browser test.

I get that all the time, and I'm not sure what can be done about it short of copying and pasting into the address bar. Either that or open a new window before clicking it.

I've decided to take a look at the settings in MSIE, which I recommend that you do, next time, and came up with this:

It's pretty self-explanatory; but if you don't have MSIE7, it probably isn't going to work.

PS: Can someone ban that Mr. Nintendo kid? He's really pissing me off. <_<

Oh groovy, it worked! I had to poke around in my settings to find anything that looked even remotely like that, but I found it. Not sure how it got changed in the first place though.

He's not really doing anything bannable, I don't think. Although, yes, most of his posts offer little in the way of relevancy and/or usefullness.

Normally, that's a bannable offense.

Aside from not being relevant or useful, every single one of his posts that I've seen has been obnoxious.

I second the ban request. Not that that really matters, though.

hi, please don't request bannings, or discuss said requests, in public forums. thanks.
Thank you...I don't care who cares & who do not care but I'm leaving Bulbagarden because most of are insensitive!Sorry for the few I know that have excepted me...so bye people!
