Weird ways you've bonded/gotten along with someone

Well, my friend and I usually talk about listening to classical music. Not just classical music, but classical music remixed by a group called Banya Production. They're cool and classical music can be weird to others xD.

I've bonded with a few people over a love of tea? I guess that isn't that weird, but I've always considered it odd that I've become best friends with people because of a drink. xD

Talking to him while hiking. Also I originally read bonded as boned... Bad dirty brain, bad!

At night school last year I hid two My Little Ponies in my purse (don't even ask) and somebody noticed after class. Unfortunately after those classes ended (and I missed some weeks due to being sick) I haven't see them since.

Alcohol. Is that the normal answer and also the love of hating on people trying to advertise Thai massages.

I've gotten along with one or hundreds (give or take a few) of people on here due to a franchise focused on forcing magical monsters into cockfights.

Going back years, when I'd first started school, the first real friend I made was due to our mutual interest in the growth of a sunflower. We were paired up and told to raise it to be big and strong. There was probably some prize for whichever pair had the biggest and most healthy looking, I don't fully remember. So yeah, we bonded over a sunflower ^^

The girl still lives in my town, we don't hang out anymore.

These days it's usually shows or video games that establish a common ground, though I don't really make new friends. The friends that I do have, i've had for many years.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a weird such way I've bonded with another person. But more so than that. Not just MLP, but hatred of another person and many things. Through mutual searing hatred and pain of the same exact things, (and sharing the same ex-boyfriend @_@) our relationship only grew stronger. It lead to the beginning of a new, much better relationship.

We never knew that mutual hate was such a great way to bring people together. But I can attest to it. It was part of the reason we have such a close bond nowadays. Almost known each other two years. Having been through so much pain and hurt together really brought us closer. It made us into a team of fighters against the horrible things that keep happening to us both. And nowadays, we stand strong even when we have nothing more to hate. We still have loads in common outside of mutual dislike of many things.

Also, Forum Games and RPs tend to be other ways I make friends with people. I find FG to be a great place to break the ice and really socialize in a casual, pressure-free environment.

My interest in the bassoon (this was before I played it). In my junior year (high school) I somehow made a big enough deal about it that everybody knew, and one girl that had just moved found out and told me that her sister played the instrument and that we would be great friends. That sister moved in the next year, and we started talking to each other and became best friends (and more...at one point... xD).

I just find it funny because I don't know if we'd have ever even talked if we hadn't had that in common. She has been a very important person in my life since, and it all was possible because of that in common. lol

Someone hated me till we started playing Fifa and Tekken online.

I made my best friend ever by just drawing. She's always been a great artist and one day I asked her if she would show me some of her drawings. Over the next few weeks I showed her some of mine, and she gave me a lot of useful constructive criticism. She gave me little lessons and we started drawing together. She also took me to our school's anime club to meet some more amazing artists and we all got along really well and always had a good laugh. That was... about 5 years ago, I think? Now we're the best of friends. But though I've improved a lot, she's still a much better artist. xD

I also made a great friend because our English teacher made us sit next to each other in English. We bonded over our shared hatred of English Literature lessons, and the way we joked that our teacher's blouse colour always matched the weather (yellow for sunny days, grey for cloudy days, etc)!

Two pretty unlikely cases.

The first one is pretty stupid on my part. When I was 17 I visited a school I had basically no interest in. In the afternoons, when everyone went home, I got out of class almost as if someone had woken me from a week-long coma. I was always insanely tired and bored. And one day, on the way out, I tripped on a rather big set of stairs because I was so god damn tired. It just so happens that my soon-to-be friend (basically your typical 'popular girl') was talking to her friends on the end of that set of stairs.

So here I am. The total creep with long hair and a black textile coat that everyone tries to get away from, flying down a set of stairs in the general direction of some girl while her friends started screaming as if a comet is about to strike our planet out of existence. Well, what can I say: She actually caught me. We still fell to our asses, but she made sure I got out of it without seriously injuring myself. (Or her). Things got going from there and we're great friends to this day.

The second one is a bit more typical. We all know the case of the spilled drink in someones backpack right? Well, in 5th grade, one of the guys from my class had just that problem. All his papers where pretty much useless, but worse yet: The guy was thirsty as all hell because we just came from sport. I offered him my water and we got talking right away. We walked the whole way back to our school together and that pretty much sealed the deal. Over the next few months we became friends.

I was playing Pokémon Pearl on my DS, lying across a sofa in college (My group always sat on the sofas but I was on a free period that no-one else shared with me) and some guy sat down, so I moved my legs, and he was like "no, you can put your feet on me if you want" (He wasn't a complete stranger, just someone in my social group who I've never really talked to before, apart from making a joke at his name (it's the same as a certain wizard boy)) and he started playing Pokémon on his Gameboy. We got talking, we both really like Digimon, Pokémon and Anime. He was my best friend for a while and we would share all our favourite video games with each other, then eventually he became my boyfriend and we're still together now.

Another weird way I made friends with someone was by walking up to them and telling them that they looked 'hug-able' and asked if I could hug them. They said no, but somehow we became friends. Turns out we both play guitar and like Death Note and Animal Crossing and he was in my friend's class, so somehow he started hanging out with my friendship group more, and now he's part of my cosplay 'group'.

Mostly Pokemon, music, drawing, Rping, etc.

But I also have gained friends from playing farming simulation games where you woo the opposite sex, raise animals, get married and get rich.

My longest friendship is with a friend where we don't seem to have much in common and all we do is argue.

I'm not sure what brings us together? Probably our mutual weirdness and shared life experiences, I'm guessing.

But we go through a lot of periods of avoiding each other after bad fights (like right now, ugh, and it's over the dumbest thing but he won't admit that).
