Welcome to Bulbagarden's forum to discuss all issues related to Bulbapedia!

A few quick notes:

1) You can talk about anything 'pedia-related here. Problems, questions, opinions on an article, anything. Or you can just make small talk with your fellow contributors. Either one works.

2) If you don't use the same Bulbapedia name and Bulbagarden name, posting who you are would always help everyone recognize one another.

3) We're working very hard to get the whole "no Pokemon pages added" issue resolved, and we're very close to an awesome, working template for that.

I'll also post updates regularly both here and on the 'pedia with new features. Enjoy!

Well, I managed to complete the bios for all of the major Pokemon Colosseum characters. I can't think of anyone else who figures into the storyline except for maybe the Kids GRID kids. And they're not really individual characters so much as they are a gang. Plus, they're not all that important. So I thought I'd just let it go.

I think it was sort of a thorn in my paw. So many fans are inclined to basically dismiss Orre, the entire cast of Colosseum, and everything else related to it as "non-cannon" or nonexistant. Especially since Emerald came out with all of the Colosseum catchable in the wild.

I mean, it wasn't exactly a fantastic game, and it had many flaws. But it was still interesting to see someone attempt a project. And I loved all of the characters, generally finding them more interesting than some of the ones from the Gameboy games. Plus, the plot was better than usual for a Pokemon game. It felt half-assed at times, but it's still depressing to hear some people in the fandom who totally ignore Miror B.

And that's a shame. The fight against a hoarde of regenerating Ludicolos dancing to salsa music playing in the background is quite possibly one of the most wonderfully bizarre moments in Pokemon history.

Speaking of which, Blackjack, remember those scans you posted?:

Would you mind if they were added to the Cipher Admin's pages in the Bulbapedia? I wanted to get your permission before uploading them. Plus, I guess they could stand to be shrunken a bit.

I think I'll polish off the Orre location descriptions (the ones I can do, I haven't been everywhere in Col - just the stuff from the main story mode) and then move on to something else.

Be very careful there. Don't overuse them - just take what is needed to illustrate the page. We don't want ShoPro hounding us, do we? (Well, at least until Archaic leaves Japan and our governments cancel any extradition agreements...)

I don't think Australia is going to extradite a 20something to Japan for copyright law infringement on a small scale.

Apparently the server is still moving, because I just tried to post a new entry and the database was locked.

Any idea when it will be back?

I checked back several minutes ago and it worked. Thanks.

For the Pokemon articles, do you really think it's neccessary that they all be listed as "Insert Name Here (Pokemon)"?

I only ask because it doesn't quite make sense. I realize that you want to draw a distinction between anime character Pokemon and the species in general, but I don't think it's necessary.

Of the anime characters, I can only think of a couple where the Pokemon has appeared enough to be considered a prominent character to the point where people will think of it first before the species in general: Pikachu, Meowth, Wobuffet, Togepi, Jigglypuff, and the Legendaries are really the only ones that are featured regularly in the anime to the point of needing personal entries of their own.

If anyone wants to add anything else about another particular anime Pokemon's history, it would problably be easier just to add it to the page of the Trainer who owns it.

And since the Pokemon (Anime Character) is in such a minority compared to the species of Pokemon which have had no prominent character roles (Ledyba) or who have at one time been featured but now no longer appear enough to be associated so closely with that Pokemon's species, that the character is first in people's minds (Squirtle).

Thus, I propose that articles about seperate Pokemon species simply be listed as "Insert Name Here", and Pokemon characters be listed as either "Pokemon (Insert Anime Owner Here)" or "Pokemon (Anime)".

I would think it'd make things a whole lot easier on everyone. Since if you do it the original way, every time you try to hyperlink to certain species, you're going to have to go in and change the link so that it directs to "Pokemon (Pokemon)". And most of the hyperlinks for Pokemon species don't do that already . . .

It's just that the anime's famous Pokemon character roster is pretty miniscule when compared to the roster of Pokemon who have only appeared in one episode and never figured into the storyline or anything. Or who have lost popularity over time.

It's all easily fixed, with the power of the {{p|x}} template. One change changes all... that use it. Unfortunately, there are still quite a few that are linked manually.

We were considering putting the articles in their own namespace (Pokédex:Bulbasaur etc.), with auto-generated sections.

This would be a huge undertaking, but for the TCG section, it might be neat to have an entry for each card.

Because it'd be extremely neat to have a picture of every card in every set with both the card's text and an analysis of any tactical use of that card.

Back in 04/2003 I started two topics about Berry Names and Pokéblocks for Ruby/Sapphire in the forums. I haven't posted/updated in the threads for awhile now, but there is still a fair amount of useful information.

I would love to contribute the work to the Bulbapedia, seeing as how the entries on berries and pokéblocks are bare, but I am quite the beginner when it comes to Wiki and am a bit hesitant to jump in.
