What abilities do you think certain Pokemon should have?

If you could give a Pokemon a new (existing) ability or change it, what would it be and why?

For me, I would give Cranidos/Rampardos Rock Head (but that would make them overrated thanks to recoil-free Head Smashes from 125/165 base Attack)

And no, you can't use abilities that you came up with.

I always thought Staraptor should have the ability Guts I don't know why but I just do

And status conditions, Scrappy Miltank/Kangaskhan with Fighting-type moves or any other species with Odor Sleuth/Foresight, Gastro Acid/Worry Seed, Future Sight/Doom Desire, etc.

My suggestions (some ignoring the original Japanese background or name behind them):

  • Mareep line - Volt Absorb.
  • Magnemite line - Levitate instead of Sturdy.
  • Beldum line - Levitate.
  • Cacnea line - Rough Skin/Arena Trap.
  • Gastly line - Bad Dreams.
  • Weavile - Technician and Snow Cloak instead of Pressure.
  • Vaporeon - Hydration.
  • Milotic - Hydration.
  • Spinda - Huge Power instead of Tangled Feet.
  • Flareon - Quick Feet.
  • Sableye - Shadow Tag instead of the fail that Stall is.
  • Swinub line - Technician instead of Oblivious.
  • Dunsparce - Huge Power instead of Run Away.
  • Doduo line - Technician instead of Run Away.
  • Zubat line - Technician.
  • Farfetch'd - Huge Power instead of Keen Eye.
  • Voltorb line - Levitate instead of Static.
  • Dragonite - Thick Fat

This is genius. Especially Dragonite w/ Thick Fat (that 4x weakness to Ice bites)

Pachirisu can also make do with Technician or Huge Power.

Weavile is too frail to use Pressure effectively; it could use the evasion from Snow Cloak or have its Ice Shards become as strong as Scizor's Bullet Punch (or Faint Attack outclassing Night Slash).

Mamoswine can make do with Techician for the reason above.

And, since the Mareep line lacks recovery outside of Rest, Volt Absorb may be useful.

Voltorb/Electrode/Beldum/Metang/Metagross w/ Levitate is awesome (though it kills the fact that they can learn Magnet Rise bar Beldum)
 
I always feel like Jirachi should have levitate, since he does float around and it would give him a nice ground immunity. But Serene Grace is still nice.

I totally agree with you guys on Weavile. And a Thick Fat Dragonite would be cool but it might be too broken, what do you think?
 
I'd like Giratina to be able to fly away from ground attacks like Earthquake since he has wings and his origin form should have pressure too (even though him getting hit by earthquake is not much of a big deal)

Well, their other abilities are decent so they can still use Magnet Raise if they want or have a strategy, especially in the case of Voltorb and Electrode due to its amazing Speed stat.
