Hmmmm, I don't really know all his pokemon that well, but...

Final team I think Ash should get:

1. Pikachu
2. Charizard
3. Heracross
4. Bayleef
5. Squirtle
6. Primape/Pidgeot toss up

We can't really say Heracross is his most powerful one. It only appeared for like 18 episodes, IF that much.

As for his most powerful and trusted 'mon:

No. Just no.

For his strongest, I'd say Lizardon, Kabigon and Jukain are definitely the Top 3.

Pikachu is definitely his most trusted. 2nd might be Fushigidane?

I think his top 3 strongest are Charizard, Snorlax, and Sceptile

here's what I think in terms of his top ones.
1.Charizard(if you don't see why your biased against him)
2.Snorlax
3.Bulbsaur/Sceptile/Pikachu(until bulbasaur and sceptile go at it thier even in my veiw)
4.Squirtle
5.Glalie/Donphan

In my humble opinion, and in no particular order:

Strongest
Pikachu, when he's at his best. Other times he's pretty bad.
Charizard
Snorlax
Sceptile
Swellow
Sixth spot is hard to choose. I'll just say Bulbasaur/Glalie. Glalie was more consistantly amazing but wasn't around as long as Bulbasuar and may have had some crushing defeats as well if he was.

Most trusted is hard to choose.
Pikachu-his first, and clearly his favorite.
Charizard-often a secret weapon.
Snorlax-though not to the same extent, much like Charizard seems to get called for when heavy hitters are needed, and has never let him down.
Bulbasaur
Squirtle-as shown by him calling them in for Brandon.
Swellow-in Hoenn, he often seemed to use Swellow to break in an advantage when things seemed bad.
