I mean, he's not based on the games or any thing.
Think hey'll end up still being Ash rival for the 5th Generations?

I don't think he will. The main thing about his story will be finished if/when Ash beats him at the league.

What are the chances of Paul coming to the 5th Generations?
% 30.

None.

Ash beating Paul at the league is 100% likely, and the character would just be too stale and uninteresting to continue for another arc.

Paul is incredibly one-dimensional, and once Infernape is gone and Ash beats him, no reason to keep him around.

Honestly, I think this time they'll break tradition and make the male or female player character of Gen 5 the anime rival. I think Paul's gonna just get put on a bus.

All Paul was was a subtle Silver expy. Unless Silver steals his way into Gen V, we will not see Paul.

Who knows. I sure don't, but I would like Ash's Sinnoh rivals to maybe pop up once and a while.

Maybe it's just me, but I think Paul and Barry are rival wise are just as good as Gary.

I think the only reason Gary sticks around is:

a) His grandpa is Prof. Oak, a major character

b) He has the nostalgia of Kanto going for him

c) Him being a researcher gives him reason to still appear, even if the rival part of his character is done

I honestly don't think Paul or especially Barry will get the same treatment. All of Ash's other older rivals disappeared too.

Around 2%. And that are the good odds.

Once Sinnoh finishes, Paul, sadly, goes bye-bye as well.

Well, I'm hoping that Ash would lose to Paul, and then follow him to new region, to prove his worth...Or something, though I doubt it. Paul would probably be doing either Johto or Hoenn Battle Frontier.

5%.

If any of the DP rivals crosses over to the next generation, I feel it'll be Paul, though he wouldn't be a main rival anymore. He would sorta be in the background have 3-4 appearances.

It would be nice to see him be nicer to his pokémon and try (and struggle) to find strenght and power without resorting to cruel methods. I would also love it if he were to sort of defend Ash, and Ash's skills as a trainer, to the next rival.

but as chances go ? I would say 28.3234 %. That's how I roll :D

My fifteen cents (Two cents adjusted for inflation):

Now that Team Galatic is on the bus to prision in the Poke Universe, Paul will likely do so as well. I expect a new rival to debut when the new games come out this fall in Japan, and Dawn/Hikari will also be bus riding.

Not so much really :(!. I think that Ash vs Paul story will be end when Ash defeats Paul, It's almost sure that Ash will defeat him in the league, and then Paul probably will leave :(! I don't like the idea because Paul is a really interesting character and I would want to know more about him and his life and why he is that way :(! But probably he will leave the show and another rival will replace him.

Ash needs a lot more practice to beat Paul. I think Paul will still be his rival by Gen V.

About the same chances as Misty becoming an E4 member.

I'm not expecting Paul to appear in GEN V.

But, if he did, that would be great! Paul is much more serious than Gary which makes him a suitable rival for Ash. I think the Pokemon BLACK & WHITE Rival would appear in the anime instead.

Well, while Paul does have a chance of proceeding to 5th region, its not very likely. It could be along the lines of losing to Ash,continuing to be rival going to same region he does with revenge motiv behind it(eh not really).

Paul was a great rival for Ash and i liked how he is different from others when it comes to training pokemon, and it would be nice if he could stay but somehow i doubt it.
Than aghain if Gary could have been brought back(although he isnt rival anymore),writers could do the same with Paul building on relationship between him an Ash more.Chance is there, but its not very big.

About the same chances as Misty becoming an E4 member.

Hey at least it has some chance.Seriously if she stays in gym until the end of this show this would be a big slap in face to her character not progressing any further toward her goal.

I think the Pokemon BLACK & WHITE Rival would appear in the anime instead.

Does anyone except me finds titles for new games being kinda lame."Black and White"?

Couldnt they come up with something more original?
