What the heck is an uber?! Is it a defensive wall that's got humongous attack? Is it a Protect and Detect pokemon? Is it a pokemon with max EVs in its stats? Please help me understand!!!!!

An uber is one of the really powerful lengandaries. All pokemon that aren't allowed in the battle tower are ubers. Wobbufet is also considered an uber by certain people, including myself.

A Wobbufet? Uber? You mean this creature owned by Jesse of TR? :/
I think "uber" comes from german language and means "over".

No, it a portion of the legends and Wobbufett

The reason why Wobbufett is an uber, is beacuse of Counter, Destiny Bond and Mirror Coat. It all equals uber in my book

(I do know it is a completely offtopic, but I cannot send a PM to you, Dawn Fan Boy. I need to talk over the thing in your signature, send me a PM or send your mail to talk precisely)

But anime made Woobuffet a really "under", not "uber".

Sometimes, I make my friends have an uber-olny battle with me... no more Lucario on my team. :(

Uber Tier of 4th gen (to my knowledge)

Mewtwo
Mew
Wobbuffet
Lugia
Ho-Oh
Groudon
Kyogre
Rayquaza
Deoxys - RS, LG, FR, E
Latios (with or without Soul Dew)
Latias (with or without Soul Dew)
Dialga
Palkia
Giratina
Manaphy (lol)
Darkrai
Arceus

In a nutshell, Uber Pokémon are either Pokémon, mostly legendaries, that have either an insane base stat spread, really great movepool, or a combination of both. The reason why they are banned from normal play is because they over-centralize the standard metagame (Wobb is a huge offender).

Wynaut was removed due to its mediocre stats and the increase of emphasis on the offensive this gen. I still don't get how Manaphy ended up in Uber, but from what I gathered, it's due to being too good when used in a Rain Dance team (crappy reasoning in my opinion, as Manaphy has a conflict with not having enough move spaces).

So THAT'S an uber! I know what it means in German, and I knew, but I would think Porygon Z would be there, since he has amazingly high special something (I forgot). Thanks! Feel free to discuss ubers here.

Porygon-Z has mediocre speed and horrible defenses...

Phione... uber? オムジロールズ (OMG lols)! XD
Meh, his info is obviously wrong, as you can use Latios/Latias and Wobb in the Battle Tower, while Jirachi, Shaymin, and Phione are banned.

Porygon-Z has the same special attack as Alakazam so why would it and not Alakazam be banned?

I didn't know you could use Latis in the battle tower. Have you used them at the Battle Tower with soul dew? And Wobb is there because it is mostly a matter of opinion.

Latios and Latias ARE uber. But only with soul dew on.
Base 600 stats, great movepool, and no 4X weak don't scream Uber to you?

Never said Pory-Z was Uber. It's bad Speed and Defenses offset its monster S. Atk.

Check it out yourself. Even some of your partners in Multi Battle have them.

And Wobb is there because it is mostly a matter of opinion.
"L" already went over this in the RMT thread, so I won't go over it again.
