So the official Pokémon Twitter account dropped this teaser at midnight in Japan teasing at the 30th anniversary of Red and Green in February.

What are your thoughts going into the 30th year of the franchise? What are you looking forward to game wise? Are there things you want? Things that you would not want to see? What are your hopes going into the new year? No need to be realistic in this thread! I encourage you to dream big in what you desire for the anniversary!!

NGL I would like to see them release some of the games on NSO for the 30th. Especially the GBA games! They've already teased Colosseum and XD for Gamecube NSO, I can see them finally working out something for Gen 3 for NSO.

Things that you would not want to see?
Most of it being KANTOOOOO which I get cause it's the 30th but I don't have any nostalgia for it (slightly amusing seeing my favourite Pokémon is from there) so it better not be just 90% Kanto pandering and nothing else. There are countless other regions that can join in the celebrations too you know.

Well Gen 10 is certainly going to happen this year. So I just hope it's good, relatively free of bugs and controversy, and it's not too expensive (it'll inevitably be $70 but I just hope they don't look at Mario Kart World and think they could get away with $80).

Also we need main series games on NSO yesterday. Not a remake. Not a compilation. NSO. We should at least have Red/Blue by the end of the year.

we're likely getting gen 10 but i'm also hoping for some side/spinoff stuff this year. i've been hoping for pokepark 3 every year since 2013 and i know it will never happen but i'm obligated to say it at this point. i'd like them to slow down on all the mobile game stuff because i don't play any of them lol. anyways i hope we can get another movie (horizons pleasee)

Gen 10 is probably a given, and I'm excited for that! Always fun seeing what new Pokemon and characters they'll introduce

On a seperate note, I'd be interested anthology animated shorts for all the regions again. Basically an extension of Pokemon Generations or Evolutions (both respectively during the 20th and 25th anniversary). Those were so cool and I'm definitely wanting more. Even if that's not in the cards, I'll at least take Z-A anthology shorts.

Speaking of Z-A, even with the anniversary cycle, I hope it's spotlight even now when the game and dlc's is done, will still get it's due time in things like the merch, TCG, anime etc. This was one of my favorite Pokemon games in years, so I hope it still get notable spotlight in between what will be a big anniversary year, and gen 10's post-release cycle by next year.

I’d like to see old games get rereleased, like they did with the Virtual Console games on the 3DS for the 20th. This time, though, I’d hope to see them on mobile(!)

The Switch 2 is technically a handheld, but it really doesn’t fit in your pocket. For the Pocket Monsters franchise, it would only make sense to go to something that actually does.

  1. confirmation of Gen 10
  2. Console spinoffs besides Pokopia (Mystery Dungeon reboot namely)
  3. A pokémon design contest. Would be a good way to take advantage of the fakemon communities. Hell go as far as outsource 90% of the dex to the winners and see what they can cook up (Starters, Legendaries and Mythicals are likely excluded)
  4. Alola Legends title focusing on the Ultra Recon Squad and exploration of various versions of Alola with eldritch and unusual themes.
  5. An official lorebook. the equivalent of Hyrule Histroia (minus timeline shenanigans)

1. Gen 10.
2. New spinoffs, or returning spinoffs like Pmd.
3. New animation specials in the style of generations, origins that focus on the older games.
4. Something completely unexpected happens.
5. Collabs.
