Seeing as we're getting close to the end of 2011, what are your thoughts on Pokemon in the last year? What were your favourite parts, and what were least favourite parts?

My favourite part was when Pokemon Black and White were released internationally. As they came out in Europe before other English speaking countries, I knew that I was one of the first people to play the English version, and I knew that I was playing it before America (for a change).

My least favourite part was when PokePark 2 was announced. I was sure that the 'secret game' would be a new Wii RPG, an MD game, or a Ranger game, but I was just overall disappointed by what Nintendo thought was a 'great game'.

I'm going to have to agree with you - your favourite and least favourite parts are typically mine too. I will say, however, that even outside of the best and worst parts I've really just enjoyed watching Pokémon change. I think gen V has really been a turning point for the series and I'm now very excited to see where they'll take the games next, considering they've finally broken into a more Western style and region. This is also the first time since the Advanced Generation that I have given the slightest crap about the anime, even if I still don't watch it regularly.

...Knowing we had the games before America for once still holds a special place in my smug little heart, though. >__>

The best thing about pokemon is obviously the release of Black and White XDD I enjoyed the game very much!

The worst thing that happened is the anime -.- The Team plasma episode being cancelled, to be specific.

Favorite part- The CGear and the IR that B/W introduced to us. Those things changed the way we trade. (But not the way we heckle)

Least favorite- Um...They still have Ash in the anime.

I'm happy that I at last got wireless Internet and could download Pokemon to my White version, which I couldn't to DP. For BW, nice with new Pokemon and animated sprites, but I still hold on to my SoulSilver more than to any other Pokemon game. At the start of this year I finally got a friend to play with, but it seemed he got tired of it just as quickly or he just doesn't have time to play :(

The greatest disappointment for this year is that there is no good Pokemon game to 3DS, which I expected after I got my 3DS. But I got Zelda to play in the meantime. I thought they would release a sequel to BW before christmas. I don't think I will waste money on Pokemon Scramble or whatever it's name, because I stick to the main games.

To be honest, I think the chances of Pokemon Grey being released by the end of this year was pretty low. Though I can bet that it'll be out out by the end of next year. And as for Super Pokemon Rumble... it's a new Pokemon game, so I knew that I would definitely get it, even if it didn't get brilliant reviews.

Favorite Times:
Games: I really enjoyed when Black and White came out. I remember running to the computer every few hours the day when all the English names finally got leaked.
Anime: I Have to say, seeing Pokemon the Movie White: Victini and Zekrom in theaters. That was a fun time that I hope to experience again.
TCG: I got introduced to the cards this year.Thats about all.

Worst Times
Games: It was sad to see the end of the generation I started in. And Europe getting Black and White before the U.S. did. Just kidding!Anime: Dawn left. And Ash took a nosedive in experience.

Best: Pokemon Black & White being released in the West, of course. The most amazing games in the series yet. I have already played for over 400 hours already. I have had a number of video game disappointments this year, but these games alone have kept me too busy to care.

Worst: Possibly the worst character in the history of television, Iris, becoming a main character in the Anime. No likable qualities whatsoever, and has nearly made me give up on the show on a few occasions.

Great success followed by huge failure. Namely HeartGold/SoulSilver followed by (what I think are) the B/W flunks IMO. There's pretty much nothing else to be said I guess.

Best Part: Pokemon Black and White. Seriously my favorite Pokemon to date, with unlimited customization options, the ability random Wi-fi battle, faster everything, and an epic story with epic locations and a great soundtrack. 300+ hours of this game and still loving every second of it.

Worst Part: The fanbase's reaction to the new games. Was going to say the anime, but its quality is actually improving a bit.

Favorite
-The Black and White games are incredible. I love HG/SS more, but I'm still playing Black Version like crazy.
-Most of the rivals from the Best Wishes anime. Georgia and Burgundy in particular are some of the best yet, in my opinion.
-It probably didn't come out this year, but I watched the Zoroark movie for the first time this week, and I LOVED it. Wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Least Favorite
-The lack of direction in the Best Wishes anime. Team Plasma, we desperately need you. The episodes have been improving, however. It would be nice to know where the conflict is going to come from though, if Team Plasma still hasn't been shown.
-Discovering how dull Team Rocket is in Best Wishes. I'm actually missing the DP Team Rocket, and that's saying a lot. Meowth was pretty interesting when he was traveling with the "twerps," though.

My favourite part of the year was playing a Pokemon game for the first time that had a gripping plot, relatable characters and really deviated from the norm of this series. Thank you...Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky. A few years late, I know

Oh and Black and White got released too. They were alright games I guess. I love the Unova Pokemon, but the game itself didn't quite live up to the hype, and it got stale for me really quickly. I actually enjoyed this years' replays of Platinum and HGSS more.

The worst part? The anime probably, I'm slowly but surely losing interest, and I can't figure out why. It's not the lack of plot or direction, since I never cared about those things in the first place. We've had some incredible episodes too, and yet...yeah. IDK

I really like everything that has been going on with Pokemon in the last year. I don't play games outside the main series, so the side games and wii games don't matter much to me. I love Black and White, I've loved the movies we've had in the last year, the Zoroark movie in February, and the recent double Victini movies although I could only see the one on Cartoon Network. It is my new favorite Pokemon movie. I love the anime, its great, I love the new characters and everything. The only few things I hate is how we really only have one story line, Ash winning badges to enter the Unova league, when we normally have a few (i.e contests, defeating villainous groups, etc). We only have Ash's story, Cilan and Iris haven't really progressed as much as I would've liked. Team Rocket just makes no sense right now. If they would finally air the Team Plasma episodes, it will get better. thats not much of a complaint though, like I said, I've been happy with everything for the most part!

The best part for me had to be the Black and White games. When they arrived I was literally running around the house yelling in excitement. And when I actually played them they were amazing. And yep, it was great to get a game before America did.

But at the moment, I'm not liking Best Wishes. Especially while Team Plasma still don't appear.

Best part was the movies. The games (BW and Rumble Blast) were disappointing. The Manga.. well let's just say i haven't been reading much lately.
OH! and it was a Great year for Trading Cards!!!

The best parts: Reshiram & Zekrom, The movies, Pokemon Black & White (the games), animated sprites (in the games), An array of wonderful new Pokemon (some brilliant and some not so brilliant).

The worst parts: Team Rocket in the anime being too serious, The games becoming westernised (slightly), Garbador and Trubbish, No Battle Frontier.

Those are my best and worst parts of the games and the 5th generation altogether for me ^^.

Best: Black and White! My mind was blown by the character development, soundtrack, and a few epic scenes in the games. A couple characters hit home for me. Plus, the games had a better "feel" than Gen IV, and most of the Pokemon have grown on me and I like a lot of them.

Also, the fact that there were two movies shown in some US theaters this year! (Victini and Zekrom this month, and the Zoroark movie was part of the mall tour last winter... Speaking of the mall tour, I liked the fact that they did it and it was fun to meet up with other fans IRL and grab some free stuff!)

Worst: How Ash supposedly HASN'T aged! (does he drink from the Fountain of Youth or something... Quick, somebody write a fanfic about it!)

Best and Worst of Each Genre:
Games: Uh, hello, the games rocked! I got addicted to it pretty fast, which usually doesn't happen. *nudges neglected Diamond and Soulsilver games* I loved the graphics, the music, the plot- home run. Nothing really negative to say...
Anime: I like the new characters, especially Burgundy and Bianca. But the quality of plot is going down. I can't memorize the Rocket motto, they got rid of Meowth, THEY AIN'T GOT NO PLASMA, Ash is eternally dense and young...I could go on for a while. The humor is okay though. I'd watch for the sake of character development (not Ash).
TCG: I'm not interested.
Manga: Haven't read them yet.

Best:
Black and White--What can I say? Over 430 hours logged on my Black cart, 12 boxes of rescues, a mad search for a shiny Golett... these games are awesome beyond belief!
Anime--Seeing Victini and Zekrom in an actual theatre and making eyes at perhaps the most gorgeous Pokemon I have ever seen. (You are a thing of beauty, Golurk.)
TCG--Nabbing a reverse holo Golett card in my second Noble Victories pack. Just a spur of the moment purchase that paid off in the end. (Did I mention I'd had a bad day before I grabbed this pack?)

Worst:
Fan Reaction--The negative reaction to Black and White. I know that they aren't perfect, but they are still a lot of fun, slaggit! (And don't get me started on how irritated I get when people say that the Unova Pokemon are ugly because they aren't...)
GTS--Seriously, this needs to be cleaned up. I'm dead sick of people asking for hack jobs. :disgust:

Best:
getting heartgold and soulsilver at gamestop the night before they were released (they were released in 2011 right?) and black and white

Worst:
bw anime being ruined.
Still no johto journeys or johto league champions DVD boxset in the usa
The GTS STILL not being fixed
