Spin-Off What are your thoughts on Pokemon Shuffle?

Downloaded it, and played it...

Basically, it's when Pokemon collides with King Games. Not exactly a Candy Crush clone - some game dynamics are different from it. But the "freemium" process of it could easily have been cloned from King Games, with coins and jewels. Worse, there is a case of using Event Legends for a promotional limited time period with a marginal chance of getting them each time you try playing their rounds... Which I found rather disturbing.

I warn all: Enjoy the game if you like it - but don't spend a single cent in it. I have a relative who loves Candy Crush, and still enjoys it without a penny lost - though the higher levels seem impossible at times. I might take a look how far I can get in this one before it starts feeling too difficult.

A free game like this is a "sometimes" treat. :/

There's possibilities of getting Event Legends in your main game if you beat their levels in this?! :D

I'm not even touching this one. I was never interested in the gameplay style, it's shallow puzzle gameplay. The F2P mechanics just make me like it even less, after playing Sonic Dash I'm done with that kind of game.

So basically this game it's 'almost' like playing CCS. The difference is that you'll need to drag the Pokemon faces, not slide it.

Haw haw haw! It would be interesting if, after the event pokemon shuffle tile stops getting distributed, that the pokemon was distributed to the main game via something like pokemon link. After all, they did do the Event Celebi for promoting the Pokemon bank.

Hmm...

You didn't answer my question. :/

I wonder if I'd like it more than I should if I just refrain from paying Nintendo the extra money....

sidegame im never going to play along with 75% of pokemon fans

I found it to be...okay. It's one of those kind of games where you can quickly play it first thing in the morning before going to work/school and then that's it. I find it to be a pain to have to wait for your hearts to reload so you don't really get to enjoy it.

Pokemon meets Candy-Crush corporate cash grab. Haven't played it, don't want to. If there's one thing I really miss from Gen IV, it was all the spin-off games that had a plot and no micro-transactions.

Game Freak. Nintendo. I'm disappointed in you both right now.

Games of this type has never and will never catch my interest.

Really enjoying it, and I don't plan on spending a cent.

Can Pokemon evolve? Like if I get my Bulbasaur up to X level will it evolve?

The only thing I know is that they get sronger (that is, gain more attack power) when they level up. I've not found anything about evolution yet. Then again, it seems that when a Pokémon of a certain evolutionary line is avaible, all others are as well, so maybe they can?

It makes me sad that Genius Sonority can't put out a proper Pokemon game again. It may have been their fault that they had to lay off most of their staff but it's still sad. With the rising costs of HD gaming and the failure of PBR, Genius Sonority laid off most of their staff. They can't afford to make a Wii U game because it's too expensive. They only have 21 employees these days. Apparently PBR cost a fortune to make. They advertised it as their largest project to date and they pushed their staff back up to 60. It flopped (rightfully so) and now they're producing free to play garbage. I wish Nintendo would give them some money to make another RPG in the vein of the Orre games, for the Wii U.

I don't like games that you have to download online as I don't have access to wi-fi. And games should be sold in shops in my opinion. Plus this game doesn't spark my interest anyway.

Fun. Lots of goals to accomplish and mixing in aspects from the Pokemon series like types and Mega Evolutions makes it more interesting to me than the millions of Candy Crush clones King has made (I've tried a bunch of them), but it's definitely just a fun little distraction rather than anything amazing. Losing a heart even if you win the level is pretty annoying, but I won't pay a cent for more lives.

I'm up to level 63 out of 150 after a day of the game being available. Granted there's EX stages and I haven't caught everything or gotten the S rank on every level up to now, but it definitely feels like they're going to be churning out level expansions in the future like Candy Crush.
