What are your thoughts on the Trainer House?

As you may recall, in Viridian City during GSC, there was a Trainer House that allowed you to fight a special battle once per day.

Surely this facility will return, but do you think it will be changed at all, and if so, how?
 
I'm sure it will be changed...Maybe replace Cal for Leaf? That allow LEaf to make appearance in the game.

However since there is battle frontier....there is no reason to have trainer's house..maybe an place for Gym Leaders to rematch in similar fashion to Sinnoh's Trainer's Cafe? I mean..they have half of name same!

So my vote go to an place for rematches with Gym Leaders.

That's a good point, but the thing is, the Trainer House let you gain EXP. from the battle, which the Battle Frontier doesn't. With all the technical stuff introduced since Gen II (particularly EVs) there could be a benefit to setting up a battle there against a team loaded with all Pokémon that give a certain EV.

There should be a Battleground but I think it'll probably be that building in Vermilion that the guy never finished building before.

Yeah, that's exactly what I thought.
But maybe instead of just Gym Leaders, it should also offer rematches against some important trainers you faced in the game. Not like regular trainers, but battles against people like the Rocket Admins or the Kimono Girls.

Rocket Admins are probably hating us with passion right now XD Kimono Girls will probably sticking with their dancing threater in Ecuteak City. However I can see important trainers founded in Trainer's house. Maybe Gym Leaders will call Trainer to come to Trainer's House to battle instead of random 5 persons in Trainer's cafe?
 
Either Trainer Cafe or a Wifi connector building thing. The Global something or other?
 
Franky, I think it's probably going to be a bit like a Trainer's Club, where the best of the best gather. A bit like the villa. Random NPC shows up, and you can battle them.

Trainer House is like... the only improvement in GSC Kanto.

I don't see why should it be axed. There's never enough NPC Battles.

It could be extended, though.

I hope that Cal reappears, with his own sprite (based on his Stadium artwork), rather than being player's clone drone.

I don't see how Battle Frontier makes it redundant. It's a different type of challenge. Trainer House was a perfect place for EXP-ing. BF and Wi-Fi Battles don't give you it. When you beat all the Trainers in the game, you could always depend on Trainer House.

I really don't see why would Trainer House be axed. It was one real improvement in Neo-Kanto. And HGSS has the chance to make it cooler.

The idea of Trainer Cafe isn't bad. But I hope it isn't limited to just Leaders. Rebattling some characters (like Eusine) would be awesome, too. And I hope that Cal reappears as the House's owner or something. After all, he was a relatively strong Trainer (stronger than most of Kanto Leaders).

I hope they do bring this back, but the major flaw I had with this is that you only battle Cal (I think you can battle your friend if your connected with one another), I hope we can challenge the opposite gender (as in, if you pick Gold you battle Soul and vice versa), many other NPC, and Maybe your friends like in the old GSC (but the chances are low as Wifi covers that).


Why I don't want Cal back, he's a dud. Boring and Dull. I use to go in the Trainer house every day just to battle someone else than Cal, but no.

You didn't battle your friend. You rather battled a NPC copy of the friend you last connected with using IR-DA capabilities.

Maybe same will be done with Wi-Fi (the copy of your last Wi-Fi opponent, otherwise Cal).

That's not a reason to axe a character. Especially that they can give him some bigger role, so that he can be something more than brainless drone. Give him a chance. I really hate axed characters.
