My top 5 movies are:
1. Digimon X-Evolution. This hits #1 'cause of the fact it's Digimon, and it has action, adventure, and lots of battles. Plus no humans!

2. Frozen. Elsa was amazing, and I loved how the love between the two sisters (Elsa and Ana) broke the curse on Ana. When Ana turned to ice, I could almost feel Elsa's pain. But then 'true love' broke the curse. Elsa's faithful love for Ana turned her back to normal.

3. Beauty and the Beast. Gotta love the Disney Classics! Plus it has an amazing song in it.

4. The Secret World of Arrietty. Has one of the saddest endings ever, as I believe Arrietty and Sho/Shawn were meant to be together. In the song Sho's Lament, one line goes "can't you see the sparkles in my eyes?" and I'm almost positive he's singing this to Arrietty. Plus Arrietty gave Sho her hair clip. I bet you anything he still has it. He loved her.

5. Dolphin Tale. Based on a true story, Winter the dolphin lost her tail due to a fishing accident. She was caught in netting, and her tail had to be amputated. But one boy, the only one who believed it possible, came up w/ the idea of an artificial tail for Winter. And even though everyone said it was impossible, they decided to try it. They made a prosthetic dolphin tail for Winter, and she SLOWLY got used to it. Oh, and Winter plays as herself in this movie. Really touching story, and makes you wanna cry tears of sadness and happiness.

Yay for Lion King!

Mine are a bit odd;

1. Stand By Me - It was one of the first movies I remember watching as a child. I love how it can be funny, thrilling and really sad all at the same time. I don't usually care about movies with deep meanings but I felt like this movie had a message that was very true to life and applied to almost everyone. It basically encapsulated the fun and innocents of being a child being taken away when you hit a certain age and all those carefree moments are gone forever. The fact that they start out as troubled kids, taking solace in others friendship, having a great time on a road trip, but by the end they come to realise that they are on the edge of adulthood and in the scene where they all part ways, it used to made me cry. It reminds me very much of how life goes. The soundtrack is beautiful and Ben E King's- Stand by Me is one of my all time fave songs.

2.The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Again I remember it being a movie I watched countless times as a kid. Being brought up with two brothers, I wasn't exposed to Disney or movies made for kids in general, I was exposed to very adult movies. I was obsessed with every song in this movie and I still kinda am. I know every single lyric to all the songs and every halloween, me and my friends get together to watch the movie and sing along when we're drunk. It's just a really fun, original and completely bonkers movie.

3.Four Rooms - Another movie I watched with my brothers as a kid. Not many people have even heard of it even though it has a lot of famous people in it. Tim Roth is a great actor and plays the lead character so well. The fact that it's split up into 4 different stories really appeals to me because you can't really get bored. In short it's about a bell boy who recently gets a job at a fancy hotel. He's left to run the place one night and it follows his experience. He gets called up to four different rooms in the hotel, in each room is a weird scenario which turns into a fun story. I'd deffo recommend watching it.

4.Creepshow - Stephen King at his finest. Again it has multiple stories, all scary. I loved each one though as a child I definitely had nightmares about some of the stuff in it. Now I can watch it and just laugh at how deliberately tongue and cheek the scares and gore are.

5.Trainspotting - I usually don't care for British movies but Danny Boyle is a great director. The movie was definitely an eye-opener and the soundtrack helped to make it feel more edgy and sad at times. It was unlike any movie I'd seen before and it isn't something you watch to feel good, it feels very true to life which can be quite depressing but it has a cool style to it as well.

Stand By Me sounds a bit like Freedom Writers. U should totally watch that movie. Based on a true story.

My Top 5 is:

1. LotR: Two Towers
2. LotR: Return of the King
3. LotR: The Fellowship of the Ring
4. The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug
5. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Just love fantasy and these are the best fantasy movies I have seen, ever.

The Lion King
Grave of the Fireflies
Spirited Away/Princess Mononoke
Jurassic Park
---------

Not sure about the last one, but it could possibly be any from honorable mentions.

Honorable mentions:
Mulan, The Fox and The Hound, Tarzan, Homeward Bound, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron, The Karate Kid, Whisper of the Heart, Howl's Moving Castle, Pokemon The First Movie, Pokemon 2000, Toy Story

I'll explain later. xD

fab's top five.

5) Ratatouille
4) Trainspotting
3) Blade Runner
2) Goodfellas
1) Toy Story

I love them all, not really got much else to add. Notable mentions - Back to the Future and City of God.

Your favorite movie(s)

title says all.

My all-time favorite film is Back to the Future, and some runner-ups are Jurassic Park, Forrest Gump, Inception, and Real Steel.

Re: Your favorite movie(s)

EDIT: Well, since the thread I wrote this in was moved, I might as well make this post more coherent to the thread it was moved in. :)

1. My all-time favorite movie has to be The Lion King. It is one of the few movies to where I loved all the characters, even the villains! I also loved all the songs and the animation is just stunning. A timeless classic, for sure. To tie in with The Lion King is How to Train Your Dragon 1 and 2. While the movies are in 3D, it has a timeless feel to it. I love all the characters, it's creative stories, and the music is fantastic. It has everything I love.

2. The Fox and the Hound. This movie, to this day, still has me emotional and crying like a big baby. If a movie can do that, it's good.

3. Lilo and Stitch. I love Stitch's design, and while Lilo could be annoying at times (I felt so bad for her older sister), she wasn't a bad character. Overall, a very fun movie. I also loved the TV show.

4. Frozen. While a certain song in this movie with a catchy beat and great lyrics has been ruined for me thanks to it being overplayed and butchered by people of all colors and creeds, I still love this movie. While it is not perfect compared to The Lion King or HTTYD because there was one element that I felt was missing, it still had what I liked. My favorite character in this movie was Sven, the lovable oaf! <3

5. All Pixar movies (except Cars 2, Brave, and maybe Monsters 2). This is a no brainer. Who doesn't love Pixar movies? I love them all for their unique stories, great characters, beautiful animation, and a certain freshness that other movies lack. Cars 2 is an exception. I don't know what they were on when they made that, but it was a bad idea from start to finish. Monsters Inc 2 was also kind of lame, but not as bad as Cars 2. Brave is also not as bad as Cars 2, but it was not what I expected it to be, and that's not a good thing. I was expecting a badass female character to be badass and do all sorts of badass things. We didn't get that, and that pissed me off. Overall, Pixar has made some great stuff and I hope they continue to do great stuff, while learning from past mistakes.

Special mention goes to the Madagascar series (probably the only trilogy of movies out there that has pop culture references that I like, though I can do without them), Eight Below, The Brave Little Toaster, Oliver and Company, Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2, and Frankenweenie.

I'm not sure if I can pick a top five. xP They change every now and then lol. But I'll try!

1. Home Alone 3 - Seriously, the only reason I see people hating on this movie is because it didn't use McCaulay Caulkin (or however you spell his name) like the first two movies did. I didn't care about that, and I loved Alex D. Linz anyway! He's so adorkable in this movie and the film itself is absolutely HILARIOUS with how Alex (yes, that's his character's name too lol) messed the burglars up with his booby traps. XD Also, Olek Krupa is great at portraying antagonistic characters! I saw him do one in a Law & Order episode as well. I think his accent and tone of voice help a lot.

2. National Treasure/National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets - My favorite Disney movies! Though Inspector Gadget is a very close second. I first saw these in school in my Government class. My teacher decided to let us see the sequel because we were well behaved and enjoyed the first movie so much. I love the mystery in the plots and the characters were amazing, especially Riley. "Why couldn't a girl have seen me do that?" XD Nicholas Cage was awesome in his role as Ben Gates too though!

3. Iron Man trilogy - I LOVE IRON MAN! Mainly because of Robert Downey Jr. but I still love the guy! He's definitely my favorite superhero without a doubt. ^^ He's so funny and his suit is epic. My favorite scene is the one in the third movie where Tony is controlling one of his suits to rescue people from a plane and it gets smashed by a truck afterward lol. Tony said "Well that came out of nowhere." XD The repeatedly malfunctioning suit of armor was funny as well, oh my gawd.

4. Inspector Gadget - Of course Inspector Gadget is here! I thought Matthew Broderick was the perfect choice to be Gadget himself, he got his bumbling personality down perfectly lol. He's not nearly as oblivious as in the cartoon show, but he's still epic and still gets help from his niece Penny as usual. I heard people complained that it was too violent, but it's basically a superhero movie. Come on, there's GOING to be some violence. Yeah, sure, there's murder, but when is there NOT murder in a superhero movie? I liked how the movie actually explained Gadget's origins, unlike the TV show. It even gave him a real name, even if it IS kinda boring. Also, Brain was adorable! A BEAGLE PLAYED HIM! :D I just wish the sequel had been better (it didn't even have Broderick reprise his role...).

5. Night at the Museum/Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian - These two were just totally entertaining overall, especially because of Ben Stiller, Robin Williams (he was TEDDY ROOSEVELT lol), and Dick Van Dyke (too bad he passed away after the first movie was made...)! A museum with a curse that makes all the exhibits come to life at night? Just wow. XD And then a fight to save the Smithsonian in the sequel, haha.

Honorable Mentions - Hook (Robin Williams is amazing here too! lol), The Mask of Zorro (Zorro is freaking BADASS), The Air Buddies series (ALL OF THEM. Those puppies are SO adorable! :D), The Avengers, Bambi, The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, The Return of Jafar, Tangled, Frozen, Madagascar, Racing Stripes, Ratatouille, Jingle All the Way (Arnold Schwarzenegger ftw lol), The Search for Santa Paws, The Dog Who Saved Christmas, Cats & Dogs, 101 Dalmatians, 102 Dalmatians, Batman Forever, and this list could go on forever lol.

It's a difficult task to pick a top 5 but here it goes.

1) Lord of the Rings Trilogy: Too hard to pick just one of them, they're all parts to one story anyway. The movie looks and sounds amazing it's like sex for your eyes and ears, characters are memorable, battles are spectacular and we see the coming of age for multiple characters at the same time. Plus it's cool how the special effects work was done and how little CG was used in most cases which is nice because things look better if there is something in front of the camera. I am also a big classic fantasy fan so that probably helps.

2) Terminator 2: If James Cameron never did anything else for the rest of his life he can rest easy knowing he made what might be the best movie sequel ever made. The movie gets you up to speed very fast so you can get to what is happening now rather than the previous movie. All the characters get some form of major character development, the battles between the main characters and the T1000 are exciting and even though the movie is two and a half hours long with a major shift in the plot you don't notice it because of how seamless it's written into the story. It says a lot for this movie that at the end you will shed tears for a literal killing machine.

3) Jaws: Definitely one of my favorite thriller films. Real fun to watch with memorable scenes and characters like Quint the shark hunter who tells a chilling tale of his experience on the USS Indianapolis. Pacing is good, the scares are well thought out and you got to give it to Spielberg to be able to make what's effectively a monster movie with good scares without using the monster most of the time. And I just like old movies like this when being able to tell a story and make memorable scenes were more important thanks to limited technology.

4) Rush Hour: Hilarious, awesome fight scenes like the restaurant brawl and the final battle the interaction between Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker is just great with how much the learn from one another and how their personalities and skills clash. It's easily my favorite buddy cop movie and pairing. The sequel is awesome too thanks to the cultural reversal with that movie primarily being in China but it had fewer hilarious kung fu battles.

5) The Original Star Wars Trilogy: Has a bit of everything from all sorts of movies which makes it great for attracting all sorts of people or being a salad of awesome for people with multiple tastes. Awesome space battles, blaster fights, lightsaber fights, awesome music, a great coming of age story for Luke, Leia is tough as nails and hot as hell despite the silly hair and Darth Vader and Han Solo are just badass.

Honorable Mentions: Dirty Harry, Heat (best cops and robbers movie ever), The Italian Job, Scarface (You f**k with Tony Montana you f**k with the best!), The Good the Bad The Ugly (The Mexican Standoff movie), Aliens, Predator (Get to da choppa!), Commando (Remember when I promised to kill you last? I lied), Terminator (Ahl be bach), Taken, Goldeneye, The Avengers, How to Train Your Dragon, Finding Nemo, The Rescuers, Fox and the Hound, Aladdin (may Robin Williams rest in peace), Tarzan, The Little Mermaid, Mulan, The Great Mouse Detective, The Lion King, Toy Story, Mewtwo Strikes Back, Pokemon 2000, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, Zoroark Master of Illusions, The Three Musketeers, Home Alone 2, The Punisher, Godzilla Final Wars, I could be here all night so I guess I'll just stop there.

Watch better movies, peoples.

1. North by Northwest - It's the greatest thriller ever, the archetypal "wrong man" story. Cary Grant's finest role. It's just so much damn fun.

2. Blazing Saddles - I can't think of a movie that makes me laugh more. It's wonderfully irreverent, with an absolutely bananas final act.

3. The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimenson - this movie is so weird. SO WEIRD. it's peak weird, but in a very likable way. I want to live in a universe where Buckaroo Banzai is bigger than Star Wars. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN.

4. Ikiru - Great Japanese movie, probably the best "tearjerker" ever made.

5. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind - Some may say Spirited Away or Totoro or Mononoke, but this is my pick for greatest Miyazaki film.

My top 5 movies would have to be

1) Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship Of The Ring
I grew up reading a lot of Tolkiens work and when I found out that the trilogy was being made I was in LOVE. I rushed to theaters with my daddy when Fellowship came out. I loved seeing a really good adaptation come to the screen. ( I do NOT consider the cartoon adaptation in any way really good )

2) Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King

I loved this movie because of how true to the book it was, as well as the gentle changes that were made. I rather enjoyed the way it looked and was presented. I never liked Two Towers as a book or as a movie so going to see Return Of The King was a must. I don't know how to go into any more detail than that about it lol

3) Goodfellas
This movie was the movie I rebelled against to watch. I can always put the "I'm Italian so I love this movie" card, but this movie is good regardless. I have always had a place in my heart for this movie. I have watched it hundreds of times. The movie never gets stale. It aged wonderfully and still can captivate me as if I'm watching it for the first time. I've even gotten my boyfriend to love the movie and he normally isn't a fan of the "gangster movies"

4) The Lion King
The movie that started my obsession with Disney. It was one of the first movies I saw in theaters. Even though, I was too small to remember it. I look back and laugh at the fact my daddy took a baby to the movies and I find that annoying. I have a very close bond with my dad so, it was a no brainer to put one of the first movies he took me to see is on this list. It's mostly a bias reasoning but I do enjoy the movie. I have it on VHS (woah a relic lol) DVD and Blu-Ray kind of the same as I have the LOTR trilogy I have at least 5 different copies of the same film lol

5) Pokemon: The First Movie
This movie was another I saw in theaters and have a somewhat bias to it. My dad allowed me to skip school so we could go see the movie. Which is beyond out of my fathers character. I still have the special card they gave out for those who went to see the movie in theaters. This movie had put me on the feels trip, before I even knew what that was lol. Nothing can beat seeing your favorite show have a film adaptation and be so amazing.

This has been my list for so many years, I still have my VHS of Pokemon, Goodfellas and Lion King. I've lost the LOTR VHS when my dad moved but still to this day these movies hold close to my heart.

I have three versions of monopoly for Pokemon and I have a LOTR monopoly and a Disney one too. So, it's easy to say these movies have had an impact on me XD

I'm going to have to think pretty hard on this as I type..

1.Beauty and The Beast
This is by far my most favorite movie by Disney. It has great voice acting and plot.
It's an amazing movie that stood the test of time.

2. The Dark Knight

I honestly prefer this movie out of all of the others in the franchise.
Heath Ledger's Joker is the best of all of the other Joker's in my opinion.
I never thought that Mark Hamill's joker could be beat. xD

3. Dead Silence

I love this horror movie because it was so unique and cliche free.

4. Terminator 2: Judgement Day

Great soundtrack along with an amazing plot and action scenes

5. Scary Movie

By far the first is the best in the entire series.
It is so hilarious and a bit crude. You can tell they weren't taking themselves seriously.

Those are my picks. I am sure I love other movies much more, but probably forgot about them.

1. Lord of the Rings- the Fellowship of the Ring
2. Lord of the Rings- the Return of the King
3. Lord of the Rings- the Two Towers
4. Emma (2009- BBC)
5. Hero (2002)

Good adaptations of good books. And one fantastic wuxia film.
