Marvel Team-Up's a new book based on one of Marvel's old team-up books. What happens is they randomly pick a couple Marvel heroes and team them up to fight a bad guy.

For example, Spider-Man, She-Hulk, Dr. Strange, Wolverine and Nova are fighting an alien in the book now.

I stopped reading comics around '92 or '93. Comics started to be less story-oriented and more art oriented. Then it became more cover-art oriented.

At one point around '95, they were printing comics that had stories arcs that were two issues long with four covers each. And if you were a collector of cover art, it basically meant you needed to buy 8 comics for a crappy two issue story.

Think that's bad? Try the Ultimate line. I tried reading them and I can't get into the revamped Marvel Universe so I stick to the core titles. Even there there've been problems. Starting in 2000 with Morrison and Quietly creating Gay Biker Wolverine and other appropriately dressed X-Men in leather.

Luckily, Morrison is long gone but not without killing Jean Grey (again) and having Cyke with Emma. The X-Men though are back in spandsex and the return of Colossus in Astonishing X-Men and the return of Psylocke in Uncanny were great stories.

Basically things are getting back on track but we still got a ways to go at Marvel. What with Quesada at the helm. Right now we got the House of M which is a good storyline. You don't need all related issues. Just the Limited series. And even then, dead characters came back: Hawkeye, Moira McTaggert etc. Getting off track. Maybe I'll make a House of M thread.

:x I used to read a handful of DC titles - hurray for mindless superheroism. I adored "Nightwing" especially; it had good-quality stories in addition to some gorgeous artwork~ *coos*

I was also pretty fond of "Young Justice" and Rayner-era "Green Lantern" for a while. YJ was... kinda stupid and kinda dorky at times, but it was a great source of mindless amusement. And I've always liked the idea behind GL as a whole - 'cause man, how cool would it be to have a weapon where the only limits were your willpower and your imagination? ... but Hal Jordan always seemed too stiff and boring as a character, so I grew more fond of Kyle when he was around. :x He always seemed best-suited for the job, anyway; freelance artist with a power ring? Hoyeah.

... of course, DC kinda screwed over most of those titles, so I've no real interest in them anymore. *shrugs*

And, uhm... I'm dying to read Bill Willingham's "Fables" series. I've seen scans and pages of it here and there, and they've always been wonderful. Plus, Little Boy Blue with the Vorpal sword (of "snicker-snack" fame :D). It just doesn't *get* much better that. ♥

What I'm reading now:

New Warriors
New Avengers
Young Avengers
trying to finish Toxin
House of M
Spider-Man: House of M
recently finished Iron Man: House of M
recently finished Fantastic Four: House of M
Uncanny X-Men
just started Exiles
Official Handbooks to the Marvel Universe (I'm so addicted to them)
started New X-Men: Academy X
Runaways
recently finished Spider-Man: Breakout

I feel like I'm forgetting at least one.

As for what I've READ...name a Marvel title, and I bet I've read at least one. As for DC, I've probably read an issue from at least half. Image, at least a third. Dark Horse...just a couple. The now defunct Dreamwave: Anything Transformers related.
