I know it's kinda frowned upon for a newbie to make a new thread in their first couple of posts. Well, based on my experiences in other forums. Hear me out, I'm
not your typical n00b.
Anyway, since Dawn is going to be up against May in a contest battle, she could use Buizel. Is there a 'One pokemon per trainer' rule? Buizel has never been in a contest w/ Dawn and I'm sure people would like to see their chemistry. Can Piplup really take down a Wartortle? Dawn needs this ribbon. It's been like 50 episodes since she got her last one. It will be a good lesson on perseverance to teach the kids. Though I don't think they should trade back because their teams are fine the way they are.
 
Yes, but Ash could lose one round and Buizel could feel upset b/c he still wanted to battle. The next day Ash would lend him to Dawn. Dawn and Buizel win the contest but Buizel decides to stay with Ash and gyms.
 
Yeah, I don't think Ash would give Dawn Buizel to use. Besides, the writers LOVE Piplup, its used in virtually all of Dawn's battles now, hence why its going to be her star in the Wallace Cup.

Ever notice how Piplup is out of its ball in almost every episode now? In early D/P it used to stay in its ball most of the time, but nowadays its almost always out.

and shes not getting Buizel for battle,beacuse you cant change pokemon during contest battle when she use piplup already.Final Piplup Vs Watortle
Watortle wins with ice beam then rapid spin knocking out Piplup but dawn gains Confindence and win the next few contest.

4 ribbon lose-
4 ribbon again win
5th ribbon win

Hmm? I thought we were talking about Ash's Buizel...

Anyway, I think it's very unlikely that Dawn will use Buizel. There's really no need, given how ridiculously powerful Piplup seems to be sometimes. It's not like Buizel has a type advantage against Wartortle. I just don't think Buizel will increase her chances of winning.
 
It's been stated that the winner of this contest is like the winner of any other official contest, right? The ribbon counts in any region?

I think that what may go down is either Hikari wins, or Haruka wins and gives her ribbon to Hikari out of a sympathy, thing: "It was a good battle, I'm sorry I destroyed you, have this."

at Lake Valor, ne? and Dawn's already seen Mespirit. so...whoever sees the third one, it's those three trainers (well, as the main threat) against Team Galactic, primarily Cyrus. Maybe. I dunno. it's a theory!

They'll probably make it Paul, unfortunately. the next most likely person is Brock, 'cause, like...well, he's Brock, i mean, come on. >.>;;; the DreamerShipper AND PalletShipper in me wants it to be Gary. Unfortunately, that isn't so likely. ToT

Takeshi probably will be the final one. Using Shinji would be cool, but it's probably not quite so likely.

It'd be hilarious if they switched things up and had it be Rocket Gang instead, though. It'd catch everyone by surprise.

The tag battle is for a meal. The contest starts the episode after that.
 
I don't really care who wins the contest overall, but I will say that Dawn does have a shot to win it, and people shouldn't say that May should automatically win because she has more experiance, it's not everything(and if it was Ash would be pwning gl's left and right) and given the circumstances Dawn can very well take down Wartortle, as Piplup is very strong in it's own right so it can go either way in the end.

Also worth noting is that you say dawn beating May would hurt her? Hardly, Ash tied with her in that final AG contest without having a ribbon to his name and that didn't hurt her now did it? Dawn at least has a ribbon, and her Piplup's got quite the traffic record of fatalities under it's belt, heck other than Lucario who it almost beat i can't think of any other time it lose to someone.

Sure she might not win, but she deserves a chance, something i see most of you won't give her, and seem to think precious May is gonna step on her which i doubt.

Dp's smacked common logic in the face already, and you never know what will happen around the next corner with this show.
 
Are the writers going to shirk Dawn out of three contests in a row? Wallace also showed interest in Buizel and Dawn commented that she never used Buizel in a contest. This isn't a completely unfounded theory. On another note, imagine if Ash uses Ambipom for his next gym battle? =O (JK)
