I named mine Custer, because he's a lot like General Custer: Bold, somewhat Callous, determined, very reckless... heck, they even look a bit alike! That's my rival. If you want to, post your rival's name, and your reasons for naming him that.

The only good reason I have is I think because I had a Malice Mizer song stuck in my head when I started Pearl, for some reason. I don't normally name characters after J-Rock musicians.
 
I named him Roffle, after what I did when I saw his hair for the first time. 8D
 
I named him Farmer, a joking nickname we gave the grounds keeper back in college.
 
Doofus on Diamond and just "Pearl" on my Pearl while I was Sam at Diamond (Girl) and Maxi at Pearl (Boy).
 
Matt because I've got a friend called Matt who likes pokemon

I named him Toaster, which is a character in the manga I hope to write one day.
 
I named him.. Yellow! : p

I also named my character 'Red'.

I didn't think I'd be saving that game, since a friend and I were just using that file to trade starters around. His name remains AAAAAAAA.
