The rival looks and acts EXACTLY like my best friend Reid. So, naturally I had to name him Reid! So did my other friend. Reid was disturbed. I wonder what he named his rival.

I wasn't too creative with this one...

In Diamond, I named him 'Jun' because that's the first default name that came up. (I was playing the Japanese version.)

Then in Pearl (English version), I... I named him Jun again. That's just the name I associated with him, and couldn't think of anything else fitting at the time.

I just named him Clint. I think that was one of the default names to pick from, but I've always liked that name and was pleased it was on the list.

In Diamond, I named my rival Daimond (accidentally spelled it wrong).

And in Pearl, I named my rival Diamond. XD

I named him Tyson. Not just because it was a default, but because in a Pokemon fan series I made up, the rival was called Tyson.

I was in the car with my mother, coming home from the mall and I asked her what a good name for a rival would be. She said to name my rival after someone hatable.
I chose Donald because he looked like a Donald only my mom thought I had named him after Donald Trump.

I named him Dougie, because a) Dougie MacLean is one of my favourite muscians and b) Dougie is just a cool name.

It was probably a bit of being nice to the rival character after I named him Farthed in Silver.
