I'm making this a sticky thread, because I feel we'll have MANY discussions on topic along the line of this.
The basic point is, ALL the representations we have of pokémon are anime-style drawing. Anime-style does NOT tend to be an accurate representation of people or animals - they tend to be highly stylized and simplified, especially in pokémon which does not have highly detailed artwork generally speaking.
So, the pictures of pokémon are NOT what they'd look like if they really existed, for the most part. But what would they actually look like? Some artists like AnnaJ on deviant art have tried to tackle the issue. This isn't to say I think all her representations work out, but it's an example of what CAN be done.
This is going to be an index thread for all these discussions. Feel free to post as many of them as there are pokémon, but when you do, just post a link to it in this thread so we can archive it here, and people can easily find threads.
