I like the new pokémon but the intro... just don't talk about it.

Well there is very more to say about what's good and what's bad. So post it all!

Well besides all of the cool new WiFi features that truely make the game awesome:

I love the Sinnoh landscape, even though it's not quite as cool as Hoenn.

However, I do not like most of the new Pokemon. There's just been better.

I like them a lot better than the 3rd gen pokemon. Its especially nice to have new evolutionary additions to old pokemon.

Though the whole mt. coronet battle should have taken place later in the game. At least after the 8th gym leader.

I HATE the fact that there are only TWO different fire types you can catch in the game (until you get the national Pokedex of course). Fire types are my favorite, and it pissed me off when I found out I could only have a ponyta or chimchar.

And underground bases totally aren't as cool as the secret bases in Ruby and Sapphire.

I agree, they needed more fire types. I didn't like how when you hatch an egg, it starts off at level 1. I understand why they did that, but why change it now?

Because they didn't change it in the past. You would be complaining about this if it happened in any generation except Gen II.

Dislikes:

  • Underground bases and their decorations
  • Useless Poketch Apps
Likes:

  • New evolutions

I think my favorite thing about the D/P games is the mythology. I've always had an enthusiasm for such things, but in Pokémon somehow it's more interesting. I also like a lot of the Pokémon, the landscape, as Cooltank said, the music, the Underground...everything, basically. The only thing I dislike is the surfing speed, most of the PokEtch applications, and how long it takes the Honey Trees to start shaking.

I haven't played in a while, but from what I recall:

Dislikes:
-I still hate that Bases have to be made underground, and that boulders have to be removed. I loved being able to make bases in grass or trees in Emerald and preferred the furniture for it, too.
-The more pointless apps, like the Coin Toss one.
-The whole honey-tree thing. I wish an alert like the berry app was made for when there's a pokemon in the tree.
-So few fire types. WHY?!

Likes:
-Helpful apps, like the berry, radar, and daycare ones.
-I'm with Eversti, the mythology is great and makes it more interesting.

But basically I'm holding more judgment off until Platinum gets released/more info/etc. I found Emerald to be the better of its gen, so I'm hoping Platinum will be, too.

WiFi.. makes the game so much better. You can complete the Pokedex easily now.

Less.... It's so hard to find a Fire Pokemon if you don't have Chimchar. Ponyta is the only thing in the normal 150 in Sinnoh other than Chimchar Evos. And Ponyta doesn't learn a fire move till Lvl.16. I hate how Arceus has yet to be announced, yet we all have those damn Elemental plates in our bag.

Regardless of the dislikes, D/P is a great game.

I agree, the mythology really adds to the story

I agree x2. The mythology was a nice touch, and I hope they add to it a bit in Platinum.

I totally forgot about the Honey Trees. I only tried it once when I first got the honey. It's a bit ridiculous how long you have to wait. 12-13 hours is WAAAAAAYYY too long.

The only thing I dislike is the surfing speed, most of the PokEtch applications,

Yeah. I didn't realise how slow the surfing speed in D/P was until I was playing Sapphire today. I freaked out because it was so fast!

And the Poketch is really annoying sometimes. It's inconvenient how you have to flip through all of the apps one by one. God forbid you accidentally skip over the one you need and you have to go all the way around again. And I hate how some of them are just not of any use, for any reason, to anyone, whatsoever. Just more junk to flip through.

I find it really annoying how you can't use cool Pokemon like Magmortar and Electivire etc until after the E4. Unless you play around the whole Pokedex thing and just hatch them at the start. But the fact you can't do it via in game play is a bit rubbish.

Still D/P is one of the best games I have played and a great addition to the Pokemon brand. I think the story is very good and at a nice pace. I was also impressed with the new graphics the DS gives the games. I look forward to Platinum.

I dunno really, something has made me stop playing it. But Platinum looks better and I hope the storylines at least a little longer!

I have all poketech apps and its hard to flick through them all, why not justhave a menu where you choose the one you want?

Also, berry planting seems harder to me because of the locations of the earthy soil. There at least should be a garden in berry masters like in R/S/E games.

Honey tree thing annoys me... I would at least like an alert for a honey tree and since I don't play game that often, pokemon usually leave the honey tree before I get there, so why not make the time to find the pokemon on honey tree, in game time, not realtime?

I hate the bases too, preferred the R/S/E way

I don't like how you can only catch one of these types before the national dex Electric (Shinx), Flying bird (starly) and Fire (ponyta)

Also chinglings annoyed me for some reason, I used to hate finding them.

The mythology is pretty cool, but I always thought mew to be first pokemon, due to that it knew every move... so what is it now?

I dislike how in Great Marsh (until after National dex) you could basically only catch pokemon you find elsewhere in game, minus skorpi, carnivine etc...

I did like how you only have to see every pokemon in sinnoh dex to get national dex, not catch.

Also I liked how the vsseaker was a bit better than pokenav to find trainers to battle, but at least with pokenav, you knew who was to battle.

The music is great, sotryline is good, but not long enough. I get fed up with it ending after beating elite 4 and then only being able to catch pokemon in nationla dex or use battle tower or contests.

I disliked the contests, why not make them more like anime ones, where in first round you showed of moves, next round you battled etc...?

And the who playing, battling, surfing etc... just seems a little bit slower than on R/S/E games, but that may be to do with the game needing more power to run, and GBA games on DS run faster.

Pachirisu?

I don't like how many effing double battles there are. WAAAAAY too many.

I also don't like how you have to go to one side of the Sinnoh region to get a badge then all the way to the other side to get the next one.
