Basically saying, what do you look out for when you watch a new episode? Do you look out for a certain twerp Pokemon, animation style, certain plots, music, openings, and what not? What things, if not there wouldf make/break an episode for you.

For me, I look out for animation style(anything other than Takeda and Kinoshita(to a lesser extent) is tolerable), mottos(whether or not the scene matches the word(their whole wind/earth/sky thing and so on), Yanmega(which is just too cool), and finally whether I can or cannot say that it was a boring episode.

Sorry if my title doesn't make much sense.

Something that doesn't bore me and if the episode is a goofy fun type of filler, then it would get more points in my book.

Im always on the lookout for Iwane (animation)

Also, any jokes, sarcasm, or funny stuff in general. Character development is nice, when its a character I like.

The Pokemon getting a fairly nice portrayal with fitting personalities would be what I'm looking for. Some of the worst episodes derail the Pokemon personalities terribly.

why dont you just day " what do you look for in a episode"

any way i like the plot mostly, and the voices

i dont like it when it is like WE NEED TO SAVE THE WORLD
i like more realistic type plots and that is why i enjoy pokemon more then any other jap amine

I just want to be entertained. If it's a good ep, I will praise it. If it's bad, then I will downplay it.

This, primarily.

If I had to answer, it would probably be the development and portrayal of likeable characters, both human and Pokémon. Some dry humor and censor-permeating adult humor are always appreciated, too.

Agreed. I like all the different variety of eps we get. The serious ones, the comedy ones, the battle-centric ones, the Pokemon-themed ones, etc.

Basically if I'm still entertained watching an episode in its first 10 minutes without getting bored, then I consider it a good episode.

First and foremost I look out for Rocketshipping. After that I just want an entertaining episode like the posters above have said.

I'm of a diverging school of thought - that the "save the world" scenarios procure a calling to more epic, unpredictable, emotionally registering, and interesting nature than the drab repertoire of brassy filler and gym episodes usually do. I tend to weave with and bob with the movies well for that reason - because of their epic nature (as they escalate into tumult and emotional tension that the episodes often lack), nothing is sacrificed in quality and in my view gym battles and leagues have outlived their usefulness and intrigue for me.

Of course, wanting more of this is simply at the behest of a fan to partake in - the writer's wills are rather separate from the fandom's wills and power without the request concedes nothing in my eyes. But I think it's a nice change of refrain when episodes along the movie's sort of nature are dished out. Outside of that, though? I look for interesting relationships between Pokémon and humans so as to further emotional resonance, character development, breathing space, growth of maturity, good animation (a low-priority for me, though), music (I'm a voluminous fan of the Japanese format's BGM myself, as well as many of 4Kids' tracks), high strung intensity, and etc. All of which I feel would be covered pretty well if Jessie, James, and Meowth's application would be better, but they do have good character complexes and Ash has been treated with quite the evolution as a character and trainer IMO. I'm not trying to clamor, though - these are just personal gripes on my behalf. But my sentiments remain.

I usually look out for the plot like some epic battles, captures, evolution etc.

Pretty geeky I admit, but I'm always really interested to hear what the pokémon sound like. I suppose the way I look at it is, apart from the animation, it's just another step towards making these characters feel 'alive'.
The animation is also something I like to keep a look out for. I've always loved drawing, so I've always had an interest in illustration, animation, anything artistic. Pokémon has got such a vivid cast of unique characters, so I'm always anxious to see their portrayl in the hands of competant animation directors, especially during the gym battles or episodes that focus on their unique abilities. It's kind of a shame when some really cool pokémon are reduced to stoic cardboard cut-outs.

In terms of actual episode content, I'm all for the goofy fillers that many fans seem to loathe in favour of 'important plot episodes'. To hell with those. Most of the time the show is at it's most entertaining when they go solely for the lighthearted approach. I'll take the Croagunk festival over tat like Charizard vs. Blastoise any day :p
I'm also fully support pokémon centric episodes and those with action packed pokémon battles. Oh yeah, that's the good stuff.

Depends on the episode, and hope that it doesn't turn out bad, that's all. I just hope it's entertaining and amusing enough.

PIPLUP! Lots and lots of PIPLUP! At least, I'm assuming that's what the writers want us to look for - always shoving it down our throats every DP episode.

I'm really geeky and way too interested in what original music is used in an episode...I always like spotting if it's original music, and if it is, if it's from the games. I get so used to the game music because I always play with the music on, so I love seeing what remixes of game music I can hear in the anime.

Also, I like Meowth centred episodes, or one's where he plays a bigger part. I even like the episodes lots of people hate like Hoenn Alone because of him. I think that's the one that's the last episode of Master Quest.

I LOVE Team Rocket episodes. Especially James-centric ones (like Holy Matrimony and Sweet Baby James), but only because he's my favorite of the three. This does not mean I don't adore episodes focusing on Jessie, Meowth and the entire TRio together. Just bring me enough of the TRio being important for the episode and fantastic and I'm all set. I also liked Max-centric episodes.

I like episodes where Gym Leaders and Elite Trainers get decent exposure and background. That's why I loved the Aaron episode and the recent Byron and Roark episode, and why the Sabrina miniarc in Kanto is my favorite Gym of all time.

And I like episodes that are pure crack. Like the Shuckle juice one and the one with the giant Claydoll (eggplants!!!).

And in the Israeli Pokemon dub, I often listen out for voices I know (especially in the beginning of a season when old voices are vulnerable to change).

For me I look for original music, yes I love the original stuff. I also look for an episode with a great battle (you know the ones that have a good battle, maybe an epic, that has epic music in it, like when Ash beat the indigo league and the music "pokemon world" started to play or when Ash rematched Roark and the D/P theme played as Ash was beginning to win the gym battle.

Other things I look for are episodes that feature eggs or evolutions, growing berries etc... Or episodes when TR don't blast off easily and they learn a lesson.

One thing I like is pokemon showing personalities, like Ash corphish showing its personallity or whatever.

Also I like seeing pokemon in Anime I have not seen and like hearing their voice to know what its like, especially if its pokemon that ingame have a cool call like froslass or dusknoir.

Unusual surprises to are good, like the pelliper in the Advanced Gen that used the three moves its not supposed to learn, but later you find it had pokeballs in its mouth and the pokemon in them used the moves. Unusualness in pokemon to I look for, like the golden sudowoodo or the episode with the crystal onix etc...
