I'm looking for some of the top Ash moments here where the 10-year-old shined the brightest in his 10+ years of being the star of the show.

I know, I know, some of you are thinking why look for Ash praises when you are the one that made "If I could change one thing about Ash what would it be?" thread. Well this is to give him SOME credit for his quest in becoming a Master.

For me and this is probably my favorite moment in the entire anime; from "Mewtwo Fights Back", when Ash comes out of the smoke saying "You can't do that, I won't let you..." and he walks out all bold with the original Pokemon coming behind him.

To me that has to be one of the most powerful moments in the series and the music in the background really set the mood for the ultimate showdown between the clone and the original Pokemon. It still gives me goosebumps from excitement when I watch it.

That is my #1 Ash moment, what is yours?

When he defeated Paul properly in the Sinnoh League/when he flew on Lugia's back in M02/Took control of the Sea Crown's Power in M09/Honorable Mention to defeating Gary in the Silver Conference.

When he kicked Hunter J's Drapion in the face just before being dropped out of the airship.

This is the same Ash who loves all Pokemon....and he literally stomped one in the face inflicting pain to it. Yes he was being crushed but that was so un-Ash like. Now that was awesome.

When he invited chimchar to his team after paul left him.He showed some real and rare maturity there.

Cool down hugs to Hikozaru and Moukazaru. The former in such a heart breaking manner, and the second resulting in one of the most awesome evolutions ever.

Also the fight between Denzi and Satoshi for the Nagisa Gym badge?

Taking Goukazaru in rage!mode and being completely calm and cool about it. Even Pikachu and everyone in the stadium was like holy shit Satoshi you are totally going to get incinerated. But not. Satoshi stands his ground and wills Goukazaru's Blaze by simply believing. Seriously an awesome, awesome moment.

For me, it's when Ash decides to help Lucario save the Tree of Beginning in the 8th movie.

Against Tobias when the hat turned. Sceptile had just defeated Darkrai. And he was willing to give it his all. That moment proved Ash is an amazing trainer.

Damn the writers for not caring about his development and pulling out Tobias being a n00b legendary user and the bad reset in BW.

Yes, that part of the battle proved Ash's worth but something seemed to outshine him during the final climax of that battle; PIKACHU!

Their relationship is shown to have grown so much since when they first met. Remember when Pikachu didn't want to fight A.J.'s Sandshrew after it easily beat Butterfree and Pidgeotto or Lt. Surge's Raichu after it saw all of the Pokemon in the Center because they got beat up so bad?

After seeing Latios easily knockout Sceptile and Swellow with Ash only down to 1 Pokemon and his opponent with 5, Ash was almost in tears while Pikachu had a concerned look on his face. Ash looks down and says he's not giving up and Pikachu gives one of his famous Pikachu cheers! Ash turns his hat backwards and Pikachu runs out on the field ready and willing to give his all for his trainer and best friend Ash!!

That moment proved Ash and Pikachu have a true blue friendship which shows they do their best not to let the other one down. This is another Ash at his best moment not having to do with victories but the power of friendship and the bond that he and his Pokemon share.

My #1 Ash moment is in Pokemon 2000. Ash is in an ancient prophecy and he has to retrieve the 3rd sphere on Articuno's territory to calm Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres and save the world from thier destruction.
"....and the world will turn to Ash...."
Another great moment is when he saves Pikachu from the wild spearow, many, many episodes ago. that is how Pikachu really learned to trust Ash

This, and when he adopted Charmander. He seems to get some of his best Pokemon from other trainers' discard piles.

That was indeed an epic Ash moment. Gah, too many awesome Ash moments for me to really nameXD

When Ash realized that Pikachu's own happiness was most important, and made the decision to sacrifice his own wants so that Pikachu could live with its own kind.

Pretty big decision for the ten-year-old.

That is one of the few scenes of Pokemon that makes me want to cry when Ash runs and leaves Pikachu behind and that song comes on with the flashbacks I don't know the song but it was like "Somehow someday we'll have to say goodbye..." and then at the very end of the episode when Pikachu runs into Ash's arms and they hug and Ash cries...

one of the most powerful moments of the series...*sniffles*

I just really liked this one because it represented that he has what it takes to really achieve his dream. That he can prove all those haters and doubters wrong. That he can really be amazing.

But BW seems to have thrown all that away...;_;

In the Hoot Hoot episode in Johto, Misty tells Hoot Hoot, "You like to stick around pretty girls, don't you, Hoot Hoot?"

Ash follows by saying, "Too bad there aren't any around here." Which of course gets Misty mad.

LMAO. I miss the days when Ash would have sarcastic humor. It was definitely moments like this that made Ash feel less one-dimensional.
