What do you think Cyrus' universe would look like?

If he succeeded, the world would be emotionless... empty. I'm trying to imagine it, but I just can't. What would Cyrus do there? Would he be alone or would there be other people, just emotionless? What would they do, sit around all they because without emotions they wouldn't be motivated to do anything else? Talk about a couch potato ^^
I really don't get it. What's the point of creating a world if you can't feel it? :S

In this series, there's a canon division between emotion and willpower. I've always interpreted it as being where people do what "has to be done" rather than living on their whims.

And about if there'd be other people, I have no doubt there would be, even if he was alone at first. Yeah he has that line in Platinum where he tells you that he plans to screw over his followers, but then he twice mentions that you will be there as well as a lot of other people (Cynthia, for one. Everyone you know, for another...)

Also I have the impression that Jupiter and Mars were going to be in the new universe too. After all, he says all this in front of them and they don't so much as bat an eye...

You ever feel bad enough that you wish you could stop feeling all together? It sucks and once the emotion passes you know that not feeling at all would mean missing out on the good things in life. Of course some people don't get past it, some people feel too much negative to feel the positive is enough... and then of course there are people like Cyrus, he is kind of more crazy than anything else.

Cyrus's world would be a world where everyone is a little mechanical drone, including himself.
Everyone would express no emotion, would only do what is necessary, and do nothing to further their own living.

In our world too. Those would be affective and conative psychic processes, I guess (psychology nerd).

Thanks for reminding me, I completely forgot :banghead:

I get you. And yes, Cyrus is crazy because he wants to get rid of emotions his whole life, but he doesn't want it because he feels bad, he wants it because, I don't know... he has crazy ambitions. He's antisocial a bit. (a very big bit ofcourse :-D

Well no. If you look at his backstory, his own feelings, specifically how many negative ones he's had through his entire life, are pretty much why. Given how he grew up and the kind of pressure he was under, it's doubtful that he was able to be happy in his youth, and that carried over into his adulthood.

Granted, this example isn't from the games, but it's still Cyrus:
Cyrus in Diamond and Pearl Adventure! volume 5 said:
Kindness is just an illusion! Hatred, jealousy, and burning anger...are the only TRUE emotions of humanity! I KNOW I'm right! That's why I MUST re-create the world!
And later that same volume
Heart?! Useless! Who CARES about emotions? They only cause pain!

And DPA is interesting because it's the only canon where the characters actually manage to reach him and get him to realize that there's more to the world than all the negative things he's felt.

I guess without the things the lake pixies bring to the world - without emotion, willpower and knowledge. So pretty drab, I must admit.

Why without willpower and knowledge? Granted, he never really defines what he means by "spirit", but we know he values both of those. The only one he ever harps on is emotion.

But then it may yield a different reaction depending on which incarnation of him we're talking about, since they all take slightly different stances on things. But really, since in the games there's the angle of "ridding the world of all that is not needed", for any gameverse incarnation to want a world where people simply exist without any of those aspects, it seems to me that'd be contradicting that. Because if you simply exist, you only take up resources without contributing anything, and that's pretty much a definition of "not needed". So that makes me think that even the more severe Platinum incarnation would still have intelligence and, likely, willpower (in Special he says he prizes willpower most of all. Which struck me as strange considering he's known as a genius. But then it's his intelligence that made him miserable to begin with).

A mechanized Soviet Union?

A mechanized Soviet Union?

And Cyrus heads the Party.

In my opinion, I honestly think Cyrus' "world" would be more or less nothing at all. It'd be a black void of nothing where nothing happens. Ever.

The people will be robots considering his parents said he prefered machines more than humans.

Its a big room with corners and each corner has an emo kid and they are all slaves of Cyrus. Jynx will be dancing in the center and Jigglypuff will be singing.

It would be the same as our universe, except that the people in it will lack the virtues the lake Pokemon gave them (particularly emotion). Also, Cyrus would be worshipped as a deity, alongside Dialga, Palkia and Arceus.

This.

However, I honestly feel that Cyrus would become the sole god of his new world.

Of course, there is the possibility that Cyrus would supplant Arceus as the Dragon Trio's master.

Very true. I also agree with the emotionless of the world and its denizens.

On terms of what it looked like, I like to think of it as looking similar to Giratina's Distortion World, but obviously with buildings and maybe less anti-gravity

I guess everyone will be dressed in Galaxy uniforms as part of the tradition of Team Galaxy at that time, so I guess there's not much diversity and fashion sense. And personalities (for common citizens).
