With the new info from CoroCoro, the total amount of pokemon that can change their forms/colorings is now 13. Over half of which are from Unova. At first I thought they were cool, but with so many legendaries able to change their types, abilities, and stats the forme changes seem almost forced now as a gimik to attract gamers. The Anime has always been able to make the changes look better and neccessary to me, but some of these formes seem really unneccessary.

Do you think having more is better or worse? And would you change some if you could?

Pokemon with Forme Changes
Castform, Deoxys, Giratina, Shaymin, Arceus, Darmanitan, Landorus, Tornadus, Thundorus, Kyurem, Meloetta, Keldo, Genosect

That's hardly a comprehensive list of Pokemon with forme differences. Just because not all formes alternate within an individual does not mean they should be discounted (and still missed some that could)

Form differences - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia

Seems weird to include Genesect on that list but exclude others given its form variatuons aren't really variations aside from differing held items.

They are becoming WAY too common, but if they stay 'rare' (not many pokemon do it), it's cool. I like to see them in my PC.

Well its cool in some ways but I agree with you that the forme change thing is starting to become a way to get more players. I mean when you see a new form you want to buy that game. Problem is they are a lot of Pokemon in BW2 getting new forms and lots of Pokemon in BW have the ability to change form.

I wouldn't say Arceus and Genesect really change forms. Arceus just changes type and Genesect just changes the color of the light on its cannon or something like that.

Also, you forgot Rotom, Cherrim, Deerling, and Sawsbuck. I think form changes are cool, generally. There shouldn't be too many Pokemon that can do this though.

I like new forms. It makes a Pokemon different and interesting. I don't care if there's "too many", which is a stupid thing to say. The more the merrier, you know?

I love form changes. I wasn't into competitive pokemon when Deoxys came out, or Castform. I started playing competitively back when Platinum first hit. Giratina was already a beast, and his Origin form just opened up a whole new way to use him. These new forms are the same way. Sure, it may lose its flavor after so many get form changes, but at the end of the day its still a new pokemon with new base stats and usually a new ability. It adds to the competitive field and I'm thankful for them.

I don't mind them, but I do kinda think they're going overboard with the form changes for legendaries this generation... What I'd like to see is more non-legendary forms. Things like Castform and Wormadam and Sawsbuck. Those actually seem a bit more interesting to me, probably because they're more easily accessible.

I thought they were cute for Castform, and eventually Deerling, because they change forms due to in-game events. As far as legendaries are concerned, I've never used any (nor do I see myself ever using any considering I've gone ~14 years without) so I've never bothered with their forms.

Before I played Platinum (I was pretty late to the party on Generation IV because I didn't want to buy a DS just for Pokemon [when I was 18-19]) a friend telling me about how Arceus changed types depending on an item didn't sell the game to me, it was kind of a "are you serious?" moment.

I am ok with them but I really only like Cast Form and Rotom Changes

I like a few, they're becoming way too common though, this isn't Digimon...

I think there is such a thing as too many Pokémon being able to do something and I certainly don't think that's a stupid thing to say, thank you very much. But I also think there are too many legendaries now too, so there y'go. I prefer quality and exclusivity over quantity and, in my personal opinion at least, they're not doing so well with the quality of new formes lately anyway.

I think with Pokémon like Castform and Deerling it's cool because as someone else has said it's in relation to the conditions you're in in-game, but I honestly think they're including this stuff for the sake of it now.

I don't mind the new formes, but I was hoping that Keldeo is usable on Wifi battles. I haven't used this Pokemon yet for obvious reasons, but I love it's look and type.

Keldeo's stats are on par with the other trio's, which is 580 total, so it should be fine.

I don't care if there's "too many", which is a stupid thing to say. The more the merrier, you know?

Not agreeing with it doesn't make it a stupid thing to say.

like what Dr. Shelden Cooper says: "Wait, no. That's a false equivalency. More does not equal merry. If there was 2000 people in this apartment right now, would we be celebrating? No, we'd be suffocating."
