What do you think of Hikari's/Ash Friendship so far?

It is an intresting friendship, I mean they argue a lot, yet show respect for each other at the same time. What do you guy's think about it?
 
I really like how they've shown Ash's and Dawn's friendship so far, they remind me a lot of a brother/sister relationship. Dawn's relationship with Ash is probably my favorite out of the three main girls (but I don't particularly like the idea of the two of them on a romantic level).

I find it cute how Ash is supportive of Dawn when she needs it, but still teases her from time to time.
 
I like how Dawn is probably the closest to Ash in terms of personality of any of the girls. She's strubborn, energetic and impulsive, which is probably why Ash views her more of an equal rather than act like a mentor like he did with May.
 
Dawn seems like a female Ash.

However...I kinda do want to see more of their relationship before adding on.
 
Eh, Misty will always be my favorite out of all of Ash's female companions. Dawn seems to slow him down a bit, though not as bad as May did.
 
How in the world do either May or Dawn slow down Ash?

You do realize Hoenn was SHORTER than Johto, right?
 
Wow, I can't believe you don't know this Scott. May and Dawn are slowing down Ash because of their contests. I seem to remember a few episodes where Ash and May argued over what to do first.

The longest region of the Pokemon anime was Johto, a saga with no Contests.

The Contests simply take the place of fillers, they don't make a saga "longer."
 
Exactly. And Misty never slowed Ash down really. Also Scott, I am very much aware that Hoenn was shorter than Johto. Which is why Wallace was unable to appear probably.
 
So how exactly is Ash being slowed down if he's finishing his regions in a shorter amount of time than he did with Misty?

Hoenn was shorter than Johto, and Battle Frontier was shorter than the original Kanto.

Whereas the longest saga in the Pokemon anime was one with Misty. If anything, making comments like that is odd because it doesn't work with the length of those sagas.
 
Gotta go with Scott here, if it weren't for Contests, we'd just have more fillers.
 
Wasn't it you who said that Misty did absolutely nothing in Johto? If that is true, then how could she have possibly slowed him down? You need to stop treating May like she was the second coming of Jesus.

LMAO, let me repeat this once again.

Hoenn was SHORTER than Johto.
Battle Frontier was SHORTER than the original Kanto.

Can you explain how Ash is somehow being "slowed down" when the episode length of all the regions with Contests are much shorter than either Johto or the original Kanto?
 
Hoenn was shorter because Hoenn was a region with few interest points compared to Johto. Hoenn being shorter has nothing to do with May. In reality, she only made it longer.

They visited just as many game locations in Hoenn as they did in Johto. You don't have a good point there.

Bzzzt, wrong. If May wasn't there, we'd just have filler in place of those Contests making the region the same length.

The math details who is right, I'm afraid. You can't argue with episode length.

I'm betting that D/P will be shorter than Johto as well, it'll probably be the same length as Hoenn at the most.
 
I'm not even going to bother responding. Know why? Because it's off-topic, so I'm just going to rectify a certain person's actions and get back on-topic. As for Ash and Dawn's friendship, they seem to get along quite well. So far, they seem to have a good bond, but not strong enough to consider Pearlshipping.

And also because there's no way to take this conversation further since the episode count of those respective regions dictates who is right.

And I seriously doubt this thread was about shipping, it was just about their friendship.
