What do you think Pokémon games are like in the Pokémon world?

In any media for example the main series games. We see consoles and people playing games that talk about trading. What do you think? It's like a Pokéception.
 
I assume it's more or less the same as PBR, in which you just fight with a whole bunch of random pokemon. And most likely only little kids would play it, due to... you know, actual pokemon existing. It could even be games sponsored by the regional pokemon league, as a sort of warmup to help get children familiar with pokemon attacks so they stand a better chance when they are dumped into the wild at age 10.

I can see that. I wonder if they add made up Pokémon to make it more exciting.
 
Animals is a massively popular game series, anime and manga franchise in the Pokemon world. Many fans of the series gather on a forum called Toadgarden to discuss the ins and outs of the series.

They use Ani Balls and there is an AniDex with millions of Animal entries.
 
Probably similar to the spinoffs. The consoles when they say they trade pokes are trade machines. Portable trade machines. And the popular kinds of games are more or less the same as they are here, with some video game genres being like ours, with shooters being massively popular, and RPGs existing as well, and puzzle games being kinda popular too. I'm thinking nintendo exists in the pokeworld, with Mario, Zelda, and othe franchises existing. All nintendo games would exist in the pokeworld except for pokemon. Why play a simulator when you could do the real thing?

Don't forget another popular series Plants which is another popular game series rivalling Animals (although it's not as popular as Animals)!

In any case, there will likely be complainers who will complain about how certain animals have similar designs, such as the monarch butterfly and the viceroy butterfly, or certain dogs and wolves. Any similar species introduced in later installments may be met with criticism that they are similar to another animals, including the spiders and fish. Of course, there will also be people who will praise the biodiversity because of the huge amount of species. Can't please everybody.

I think it could be something like the sports games of our universe, y'know? I mean, everyone can play a sport, but unless if you are one of the lucky few, the only way you can actually play as an elite athlete is in video games like Madden or FIFA or whatever.

So, basically, Pokemon games in the Pokemon World are wish-fulfillment simulators. And instead of having pokemon on the covers, they have famous trainers or professors on them, similar to how you see real-life athletes on the front of sports games.

However, that is only scratching the surface:

In the Pokemon World, Pokemon Yellow came out first, and it wasn't actually called Pokemon Yellow, but rather, Pokemon Red. It was called this because it was an RPG loosely based and modeled on the experiences of Red, Kanto's champion, who graced the cover. This was a revolutionary idea, as every Pokemon game before that had mainly been rudimentary battle simulators or been other genres with Pokemon just sort of slapped on.

It was only after the success of Red that Blue and Green were released, allowing players to have the choice of the traditional Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle at the start of the game.

Future generations followed similar patterns, usually featuring the (rough) story of a recent champion from the region showcased, but also allowing a huge amount of opportunities for the player to forge their own path- only certain things like the order of Gym battles, supporting characters, and the villains are set in stone. They haven't been without controversy, however, especially since many find the stories of some games as being more like "tall tales" rather than being based whatsoever on actual events (few really believe the stuff about the heroes capturing legendaries, for example, and some have criticized the over-the-top ways some of the villains have been portrayed).

The Pikachu series, for example, was originally meant to be a training simulation for Pokemon-related service professions like nurses, breeders, etc. It was only released commercially because people found it a fun stress-reliever: seeing a Pikachu, even a virtual one, can brighten anyone's day.

Mystery Dungeon in the Pokemon World is based on a long-running cartoon series.

Pokemon Ranger games are half-games, half-recruitment for the Pokemon Rangers.

Stadium/Colosseum are basically battle-only versions of the main series, although occasionally they've featured stories from the Orre region.

Pokemon Snap doesn't exist in the Pokemon World, or if it does, it was an extremely niche product. How many bird-watching or photography simulators do you see in the real world?

Every version of Nobunaga's Ambition is Pokemon Conquest.

The Puzzle games, typing games, pinball games, Trozei, etc. wouldn't be anything special in the Pokemon World, since presumably it wouldn't be unusual whatsoever to see Pokemon in video games not officially about them.

Edit: Oh, and Super Smash Brothers doesn't have any Pokemon characters. Well, not directly.

You see, Donkey Kong is a Slaking in the Pokemon World, Diddy is a Aipom, Yoshi looks vaguely Cranidos-like, Fox McCloud is a anthropomorphic Zoroark, Falco is a anthropomorphic Staraptor, Wolf is a anthropomorphic Mightyena, King DeDeDe looks more like something from the Piplup line and Bowser is basically Fire-Based Blastoise.

Edited in later: And there was a big amount of excitement in SSB Brawl when Sonic the Cyndaquil joined.

New Super Pichu Bros. just came out for the Poké U. However it was criticized for being to similar to New Super Pichu Bros. Wii.

The games still have the classic twist of becoming bigger with Super potions and stepping on Seedots and Squritles to foil the plot of Blastoise and save Princess Buneary.

In other news a recent incident involving the game Animals gives a warning to not do Nuzlockes due to the simulation causing intense emotional pain.

Another game eagerly anticipated is Pokemon Crossing. It's like Animal Crossing, only, y'know, Pokemon. K.K. Slider is one rocking Growlithe. But I do not trust Tom Nook, that Zigzagoon seems like he's trying to rip me off....
 
I reckon that there may be a variety of games featuring humans and Pokemon (and possibly creatures that are neither, like in Pokestar Studios). They could be genres of games that we play in the real world, like platformers, racing, puzzles, etc. I don't think they would have shooters, because that would be inappropriate by Pokemon standards. I suppose those who live in the Pokemon world enjoy gaming in a similar fashion to us.

Also, another thing is that, of course, the number of Pokemon in each game are technological. They'd know full well there were more than 150+ monsters, but the Game Boy only had so much memory so they just put in some of the most common and interesting ones in the Kanto region in. Rinse and repeat for every region.
 
The sort that parents ban their kids from playing for animal cruelty.

Seriously. If a game called "Catchimals" was released, where you get to catch animals and put them in really tiny cages, how would people react? Same thing in the Pokémon World, maybe. Considering, of course, that pokémon are the equivalents of animals in the pokémon world.
 
Just like how we have games that are about certain jobs, I'm almost sure they'd have something similar to a Pokemon Ranger game just like we do
