What do you think the chances are of seeing Ambipom again?

I know released Pokemon usually never reappear, Lapras being the only exception when Ash met it again in late Johto, but for Ambipom I really wonder.

Even after all this time, Ambipom is still in the Japanese opening. They could have just had Buizel appear by itself taking up the full screen, or just altered the sequence altogether.

And on top of that, what was the point of Ambipom? It was only in Contests for a very short time, and randomly chooses ping pong out of the blue?

Do you think its possible Ambipom could be like Charizard/Squirtle for Dawn, where it'll come back for the Grand Festival or something?

I think it's very obvious Ambi will appear again
They could easly not mention where Ambi goes or choose a random location
But they clearly said Ambi will be in Vermilion City
It's obvious Scott, no matter how you hate it, Ash and Dawn will go to Johto next
Of course, first there's the usual Pallet Town ep... and how does one get from Kanto to Johto? that's right, you take the boat from Vermilion to Olivine

They're seriously evil if it wasn't intended since it's too obvious to not be the case
EDIT: Of course, it's not confirmed or something and we better get prepared to never see Ambi again... but I think there's some hope and logic in believing it might appear when they go to Vermilion (they really stick closer to the games so they'd probably take this way to Johto)

I think it'd be highly unlikely for them to go through Tojoh Waterfall (I mean, why would they pass the league?!) so I agree with Pip about the ship idea. They like ships after all in this anime...

If they have a few brain cells and do use this method, then we'll see Eteboss again. But it's all dependent on the brain cells part.

It'll be even more likely if Contests in HGSS are in Vermillion, but they'll go there regardless, so why not? I think they should be able to see their monkey friend again.

I was thinking Ambipom would change its mind again, and the guy (what is his name, the guy who is taking care of Ambipom?), would contact Dawn and travel to where she is giving back Ambipom.

Because really, its one of the worst mistakes of DP. I never would have imagined a Pokemon that went through so much character development and focus would be tossed aside like that.

It was really disappointing.

Caught in a filler arc, accompanied Ash for his fresh start, fought in contests, traded and yet remained on the team, THEN it evolved, following up with a release. What a resume!

Uhhh... I'm not really sure if we'll see it again. Maybe once, yeah, like Lapras back in Johto. Took a while for that. There's also the distinct possibility that it'll go the way of the Primeape and Pidgeot. It's a monkey and a Normal-type? V don' be likin' dem odds.

Aipom first appeared in filler. Nothing important was in that ep, who cares the monkey return an ep later
Aipom was caught in a filler. May had her so not important at all battle with Drew in that boring ep
Aipom was traded in a filler, it was obviously a filler since Zoey doesn't FORCE the player to trade his Pokémon away
Aipom evolved in a filler, because no one really cares about Kenny... he's not from the games!
Ambipom left in a filler, ping pong was never in a game so it's a filler

THE CONCLUSION
Ambipom's whole life are merely a filler
Ambipom didn't really exist, it was just one big FILLER MONKEY
It shall never appear again because we don't need fillers at all in this show
I say Ash is getting replaced with Lucas because this is the DP series and Ash isn't in these games, Ash is a filler.

The FILLERMONKEY won't get hurt, it's smart enough to know its whole existence was simply a filler and thereforce it's obviously doesn't matter it was a female... the fact it was a female is filler too and so we can get to the conclusion Ambipom is actually male

It goes to show you can't trust the writers, and that sinnoh isn't the perfect little glory fest everyone's been treating it like.

I hope ambipom dosn't come back i never liked her. I was so happy when ash traded it for a cool Buisel (sp?). This way i knew it wouldn't really be seen once dawn was gone.

why would HGSS arc have contests in Vermillon? they have already done contests in kanto and if there was another contest there why would they go to kanto for the HGSS arc?

Dawn could have left it with her mother after Sinnoh ended when the writers wanted to change her team, not now when Sinnoh is still going on.

Ambipom is still in the opening; we may very well see it when Ash returns back to his hometown. It already had plenty of development. If anything, I want Primeape to make a cameo appearance. Fat chance of that happening.

Probably not. Have we ever seen: Butterfree, growlie, primeape, pidgeot, lickitung, victreebel, vulpix, weezing, arbok, Max's ralts buddy, chimecho, manaphy or cacnea (ok, with the exeption of the flashback) again? The answer is no. The only released pokémon we saw again were lapras, charizard and squirtle (Ash even uses the latter two on special occasions). Even though I'd like to see all of them returning, especially James' pokémon, they probably won't.
