What do you think the next remakes should be remakes of?

I think the next remakes should be Diamond and Pearl remakes, which also means I'd rather not have remakes again for another four or five years.

Yeah, Platinum was possibly my favourite game, so I'd love a remake of that. But not for a good while yet: Pokemon's pretty stale as it is.

I wouldn't mind returning to Kanto before that though, but not as a remake. (Again, not for a good long while, since I'm absolutely sick of Kanto after Kalos.) A sequel has been mentioned, but that was kind of the point of Gold and Silver. I also don't think that there was enough story in RBY to build off and I'd rather shake off the albatross of those games all together. Personally, I'd rather see a reboot: a completely different game, with a different team and cast of characters that just happen to be set in Kanto. Different path through the map, different structure, different plot, new areas.

Yeah! I like your idea. But would Kanto keep its gym leaders? Or would they change?

Everyone has their own ideas. I guess the safest thing to do is to keep them the same (apart from Giovanni I guess). I'd favour replacing, say, Brock for Forrest, Sabrina for the fighting dojo and Koga for Janine. (They could all appear at other points in the game of course.) Then since Cinnabar and Viridian could be replaced with gyms in new cities north of Kanto. That's just what I'd like to see: I'm sure others could come up with something much more interesting.

Sinnoh ought to be next, but for my liking, not for a while and only after current direction changes.

I don't want Sinnoh to get nerfed ; ^ ;

Kanto should be sequels not remakes. I do not want to play as Red and see the same storyline for a third time.

Next remakes should be Sinnoh. 3D Underground would be amazing.

First comes a pair of Kalos games.

Next, should be a Kanto RE-VISIT (not a remake), a bigger one with all the excitement from Gen1,but new areas like BW2.

After that, I´d vote for a Sinnoh remake.

I am literally right on the same track as you!

Th-three - D underground? *drools*
That would be really amazing though. And IMAGINE THE DISTORTION WORLD!

I know that feeling. When ORAS was announcced, I had the same worry!

Glad you are, man! :)

PD But ORAS didn´t get nerfed, so your worry was in vain. :)

The lack of a Battle Frontier might be considered a nerf. But for now, I tend to consider it a new direction they seem to have taken in general. More towards online battling being the new main battle- post- game in Pokemon, rather than a Battle Frontier kind of feature.

So Sinnoh shouldn´t be nerfed either. Except for the BF, which might not be included...

At the very least, if they are doing Kanto remakes the following changes are needed:
- Expansion of the current region, which is small compared to Gen 5 (or even 6) standards. Add more locations and particularly adapt Haneda Airport, Kamakura City, Tsukuba Science City, Imperial Palace, and Nikko shrine and villa.
- While we are at it, can we allow additional gyms in the new locations, and allow a choice of choosing 8 out of, say, 12?
- Add some content that integrates Kanto and Johto in the in-verse culture, if not in actual gameplay. Whether it is having Entei/Raikou/Suicune roam around Kanto post-game (which HGSS sort of did this), or access to Mt Silver etc.
- Allow cross-gen evolutions, full stop.

Gyms will remain 8, Ithink. But they could add 3 or 4 new Gyms in new cities, and get rid of 3 or 4 previous Gyms. I think that would be neat.

While I would love to see this, it's probably a bit unlikely and it would be a kind of cheat in the way that you could choose the gyms you had advantages over.

Solution: Do what some of the stronger gyms in Gen 5-6 did, and address some of the gym Pokémon's weaknesses. (ie movepools, held items, and double typings) Also, each gym should be scaled according to how many badges the player has.

Smart solution! Maybe the Fighting Dojo could become one of the gyms!
