What do you think would happen if Ash’s rivals found out how skilled he really is?

I always wonder why Ash doesn’t just come out and tell the likes of Paul and Barry about his accomplishments. The guy went through the same regions as Paul and Reggie, but also the Orange Islands and completed the BF challenge. That is a total of 28 badges and 7 frontier symbols (I am not going to count Sinnoh because Paul and Barry know full well that Ash is going to have all 8 badges eventually).

Barry and Paul seem to think that Ash is basically a rookie and Sinnoh is the first region that he is competing in. Paul may have a better insight into Ash’s journeys after learning that he beat the Battle Frontier challenge.

Barry just acts like he is all that because he thinks that Ash is basically as I mentioned before a rookie. He wins one battle against Ash and thinks that he is better (He used his fully evolved starter against Ash’s newly cause 1st stage Pokemon), and he even had that attitude when Ash defeated him in their first battle.

If Ash did tell them they would probably be shocked and surprised. Especially, because of how Ash has shown to be so weak at times in the Sinnoh region. Though they would learn how he uses newly caught Pokemon minus his Pikachu. I think that Paul would be angered that a guy close to his age has already surpasses his brother’s accomplishments.

Ash; all 7 frontier badges, 28 badges+8 from Sinnoh=36 badges

Reggie; 6 frontier badges, 32 badges

So, what do you think would be the reactions of Paul and Barry if they knew how skilled that Ash really is?

Not to mention all of the other Pokemon that he has at his disposal.

For Barry I think the shock of the knowledge will come when he faces agains Ash in the league where they reveal his history and accomplishments in these types of competitions. Another reason why Barry will get shocked is that he has never battled against the pokemon that got him those accomplishments. He may see Ash is a pro if he uses his reserves in his battle with Barry at the league.

Paul already knows and isn't impressed. I doubt Barry doesn't know but I'm not sure it would super impress him either.

Barry: He'd be really surprised.

Paul: He wouldn't really care about Ash's achievements (because he's beaten Ash more times than Ash has beaten him).

nevertheless, Barry is the first one to experience how strong ash is first hand when he had the match against gardenia.

Really, too many threads? I just like to express my ideas in a creative way, plus I am still new to the website just trying to get some of my thoughts on the series across. I would put all of my ideas into one thread, but I was told by some that my posts are too long. So, I just decided to break them down into individual subjects.

Like Ash's experience does him any good against Paul. But, y'know, after all Paul has participated in 3 leagues before, just as Ash has. And from what we see, whatever mistakes Paul had made, he has learned from them. Ash is still at the attack with the strongest attack, experiment with a flashy move stage.

Barry would be very surprised, tho.

Paul probably would be surprised, but not impressed as he also entered all 3 leagues Ash did. Taking how he's thinking about the BF, I doubt he would care about Ash's Orange Archipelago Champion title either. But Barry, he's a different question! I can visualise him "panicking" like he did during Ash's battle with Fantina, after learning about these XD.
