Tracy will not be forgotten by the writers! I'm not sure if a post like this was around before but if it was I'm sorry.

Anyway, we know Tracy will propably never be a main character again and won't travel with Ash anymore. I think Tracy might go to the Generation 5 region, sketch some pokemon there and then head back to Kanto. After Ash finishes Sinnoh, Tracy shows Ash some of the pictures of the new pokemon. With the amazing pictures Ash sees, he decides to continue his journey in the next region with Pikachu.

My second theory is that he might start dating Daisy(Misty's sister)
What do you guys think?

I think his future lies in being the "brock" of Oak's group, meaning he may only ever be seen in intros and occasionally in the background when oak is present. And being in Oak's group, his pokemon will be even less seen than Brock's!

Of course... if they ever make a "Pokemon Sketch" game for the DS... (but lol, they'd probably just make a new character which would be even funnier to see how upset Tracy fans get)

If they had continued the specials Tracey could have continued to star in those.

But now that those are done we'll see him about once every 150 episodes. lol.

I want more specials. Wishful thinking, for sure, but come on, those specials were great.

And then we could have interaction between Tracey and Max. And then I would've been fannishly satisfied.

Tracey was really a throw away character from the start, at least according to that interview that said he only replaced Brock because the writers thought people would prefer another anglo-saxon looking character as opposed to Brock. He's just gonna be seen whenever Ash goes back home, and I doubt his pokemon will ever be seen again unless we get more hosos. Outside of hosos have we even seen his pokemon since OI?

Seconded.
But really, the poor guy is doomed to stay as Oak's whateverheis forever.
He didn't deserve that. ;-;

He also used all three of them in that Jouto episode where Fushigidane got sent back to Oak.

He'll just be a boring side character, just to waste away thru the annals of time.

Take care Ash's Pokémon in Oak's lab. Or maybe he can compete with Gary to be the succeeder of the lab.

What does the future hold for Tracey?
It seems he'll just rot at the lab perform the prestigous job of cleaning up the lab, drawing crap, and taking care of the Pokemon. Of course, he'll make appearances in the background of telephone conversations. It seems like the writers are pretty much done with him.

The writers were pretty much done with him once Johto started. Although I am surprised he appeared in so many of those specials when Hoenn was airing, he appeared in more of them than Misty did.

Nothing. He's doomed to a life of boring scientific work and stuck with Professor Oak looking after a bunch of pokemon. He'll be seen only when Ash comes back home to Pallet Town and that would be maybe every 150 episodes, so he's done.

Basically, he was a product of fear of racial hatemail and they're trying to forget about him as much as possible. According to an interview, the writers were worried that when Pokémon went global, people would start getting angry at Pokémon because Brock's eyes portray a "racial stereotype", so they created:

A tall, anglo-saxon looking character to be the third member.

And when they realised that no one cared, and everyone liked Brock as a character, they dumped him on Professor Oak.

Although it has to be said, I'm a bit of a Tracy fan myself. :p

Yes, we've all seent hat interview, and its kind of strange that they were conserned about racial stereotypes when they wound up replacing a dark skinned character with a lighter skinned one.

I know. It really bugged me when I heard about it that they thought diversity could be mistaken for racism. ¬_¬

Become Oak's succesor.

I know. I was mad when I read that interview. No one CARES what the characters look like, at least I don't. Besides, Ash and Misty are light skinned, aren't they? That should be enough.
