Why are they used in the Pokeworld? Do people in trainer classes wear mostly the same clothing, as you can assume by their sprites?

Are they to group trainer according to their level, or favorite Pokemon? Are they just stereotypes, that most Pokemon trainers try to fit into?

They're just stereotypes that made it easier than individually designing the look of every character, which would have been impossible on the Game Boy. At this point it's just an artifact.

I always thought of them as groups of trainers who love the same things and have decided to always dress the same so one can recognize each other.

I see them as social groups. Like how you can look at high school students and say "That kid's a goth, that one's a prep, there's a nerd..."

Same sort of thing. The sprites are just for ease, and so that you can recognize a trend towards what type of Pokemon a trainer is likely to use.

I don't see them as formal groups, for the most part.

it's a way their al catigorized...... lol, sucks for the Super Nerd classes, kinda mean, don't you think?

it's like that so that we won't have to battle exact the same looking trainers everytime. It's as easy as that.

Trainer Classes are different trainer types. For example, there are ninjas, maids, skiers... Does that answer your question?

all random Pokemon are cult members? Maybe this RPG includes guilds that the player's just incapable of joining in-game? Or maybe most of the trainers are herded into popular trends like sheep.

I think of them as names for people who train a certain type.

Not a stereotype. How is being called a Fisherman a stereotype? o_O

i think it's just to show us there are different trainers with different interests and styles. so they put certain trainer classes as examples, since they obviously can't make every single npc have a different type. and also, they're probably like a group of people with the same interests
