(Please forgive me if I've misplaced this)

I had been following the Battle Frontier manga, but now it seems to have stopped long before its conclusion. I doubt it was cancelled, so what exactly happened?

Do you mean the Emerald Challange!! Battle Frontier manga?

(I have no idea, just asking.)

It looks like it's over. I found a site listing the chapters, and the last chapter is entitled "The Final Decisive Match - The Tower Tycoon." That makes it sound like that's all there is, doesn't it?

That's what I was waiting for all this time. So it's not that the manga ended at some random point, it's just that I can't rely on Serebii after all >:-O

Thanks.

What are you talking about? Serebii.net only covers PokeSpe version of Battle Frontier, and that has definitely not ended yet

Exactly. If it's not Pokemon Special, it doesn't exist on Serebii.net, apparently.

I also hate how everyone there acts as if Pokemon Special is the official manga when it isn't.

So what is happening with Pokémon Special at the Battle Frontier?

I'm totally confused now, but I'm not going to push it any farther because this is something I have zero knowledge on.

Could anyone at least spoil what other Pokémon Anabel had besides her Raikou?

Oh! I think I get what you're saying...

If you're talking about the manga with the kid name Enta who has a Vulpix, that's the Emerald Challange!! Battle Frontier manga which has finished.

If you're talking about the one based on Emerald (the character with the weird blonde hair) then you're thinking of the Emerald chapter (saga) of Pokémon Special, the long-running manga based on the main games that Serebii.net covers. It's still going on in Japan along with the FR/LG and D/P sagas and still has yet to begin being released in graphic novel form over there.

OH!! I get it now. I was talking about the latter, the one with Emerald, the kid who has the extending arms in his sleeves and looks like Jun from DP.

Guess they're not up to Anabel yet, then.

Yes, there are two manga based on the Battle Frontier. The one you speak of is Pokemon Special: Emerald. I don't think they're up to the Battle Tower yet.

Isn't teh ebil clefairy 1 ofishal?

Or, alteast it is the first one, irc.

I think there are some 4-Koma that came out before the Red/Pippi one.

Still, there is no such thing as an "official" manga for Pocket Monsters. Each is as unofficial as the manga that came before it.

Pokemon Special isn't the official manga, but it is probably the most popular of them all.

Certainly the most well known.

Isn't it a official manga, though? As opposed to doujinshi that is basically fanart?

uh...yeah it is

No it isn't. The Nintendo copyright information on Special isn't any more official than the same information that can be found on every other non-doujinshi manga on the market.

And don't even try to pull out that outdated quote from Mr. Tajiri about how the manga "most resembles the world [he] was trying to convey." That quote was made eight or nine years ago by a man who hasn't had any major involvement in the creation of the video games since Generation I.

To American fans, anyways.

Exactly. In Japan, Pocket Monsters probably takes the title of "most popular." It's been around longer (PM started in 1996; Special started in 1997) and has been featured in the anime while Special has not. It's also available in just about every manga store you could go to in Japan (though the same is true about Special).
