What happened to Private Messages?

I noticed the lack of ability to send each others PMs and was wondering why? There are some scenarios where I want to ask someone a question in private but can't because there's no PM system and they wish not to accept any emails...
 
Do you have PM enabled? Here. I'll try to send a message to you to see.

EDIT: Nope. Your PMs aren't enabled. Go to your user control pannel to enable them. I just sent a PM to myself and it worked fine.
 
Thank you! I was not aware you had to turn it on yourself...I thought it was automatically provisioned when you first sign up. Thanks again.
