What happened to the soothe bells Ash won in the tag battle arc?

I never expected those to just disappear like a plothole similar to Johto's Kurt Pokeballs the gang never used, but its been over 60 episodes since that arc and they never mentioned them again.

Why did the writers just forget about them?

Probably because the team is happy.

There's no grumpy Buizel or struggling Gligar to use them on.

It will probably just be like the ribbon that Ash and May share. Ash will have one of them while Dawn will have the other.

Ash doesn't need the Soothe Bells, nor does anyone in his group. They're certainly not going to help a disobedient Mamoswine.

There was absolutely no reason to mention them again (not to mention the tag tournament was mentioned 32532 times which indirectly remind us the soothe bells)
I think what they should do is after Ash beat Paul in the final Sinnoh League battle and Paul begins to change, Ash give Paul his soothe bell
Other than that there's not really anything they can do with them... unless they let Buneary (and Chansey if Happy evolve) evolve thanks to it... which isn't likely since the item simply increase friendship (I guess it could be used to help Chimchar get used to the group but they chose to conclude that in one episode) and not actually cause the evolution so I doubt they'd showcase it as an evolution item
Not to mention in the anime it seems like it just make everyone who hear it relax

Hikari having the other one doesn't make any sense since that is Satoshi's/Shinji's thing. She was just admiring one, not keeping it for herself.

I think Piplup may be right about Satoshi giving Shinji the other one back somewhere down the line.

It'll probably be forgotten like the Sun Stone until it shows up as a last-minute plot device.

Dropped plot point. Not plothole. Dropped plot point.

...meaning it was never "forgotten" about, just not mentioned.

I like the idea of using the Soothe Bells to calm Mamoswine down, thus allowing for it to slowly return to obedience over the course of an episode.

Still lame, Brock should have used that Heavy Ball for something, he didn't even make another capture during all of Johto.

You'd think the writers would want to advertise how those new Pokeballs work, but eh...

This reminds me how we didn't get to see the Hoenn/Sinnoh balls at all... (I don't count the Brendan scene in the movies beginning)
I'd like to see these balls... Net Ball and Surskit could be very fitting to Misty... Heal Ball (that's how it's called?) just by how it looks really fits Dawn

Yeah, we didn't even see the Master Ball until that Wishcash episode in AG.

Have we even seen Ultra balls in the show at all?

I think in season 4 there was an episode with Aipom that the Pokémon played with a ball that looked just like Master Ball (I think it even appeared again later in Johto)

No, and we didn't see Great Ball too
I think except of the regular Pokéball we only saw these (don't count anime only balls like Lake Ball):
- Safari Ball
- Park Ball
- Master Ball
- All of Kurt's balls (I think all of them were seen in a quick scene in Kurt's episode and were also explained) but mainly Fast Ball and Lure Ball since the main characters used these
- Repeat Ball and Timer Ball (if I remember correct) in Bredan's scene at the beginning of movie 6

All the other Hoenn balls, all of the Sinnoh balls, Great Ball and Ultra Ball - all of these never appeared in the anime at all

Yeah, it was in Beauty and the Beach too. Ha, I wonder if the twerps still have that thing.

And yeah, the rest of Kurt's Poké Balls never being used and the various Poké Balls never really being spotlighted is too bad. Some of them have pretty cool designs that'd be neat to see animated again and again instead of just the normal red ones.

Ash giving it back to Paul would be pretty cool. The idea with Mamoswine would've been though of already.

I was hoping Buneary and Happiny would get ahold of 'em, but that wont happen. Just another forgotten item. Like the sun stone, and even the thunder stone.

The thunder stone wasn't forgotten about, and someone already said the sun stone was eventually used.

Maybe Swinub/Poliswine/Mamoswine was a little hungry and got to them while no one was looking...?

Well, it would be better than being completely forgoten about, maybe.

I would hope that they have an actual use, though. But they don't even play that big a role in the games.

I definatley think that one day buneary will accidently knock over ash's bag and grab the soothe bell, then itll swtart to evolve
