What happened with Jynx?

This has really bothered me since I first completed my dex in Diamond. Why did Magmar and Electabuzz get new evolutions, when Jynx did not? The three of them are grouped together as similar pokemon, first gen humanoids who were evolutionless until gen 2 where they received pre-evolution. Out of the three of them, Jynx is my favorite, and I don't understand why she did not get a well deserved evolution.

And Mr Mime! Although he got his pre-evolution a fair amount after the others, he's still in there with the Generation I humanoids and should get an evolution!

Because they're not an official trio. Yes they're humanoid and yes their numbers were side-by-side, but none of that means anything. The whole issue of grouping them together is just a fan forced belief.

However, who wants to bet Jynx's eventual evolution will be some beautiful woman? It'd be such a typical move.

I guess they didn't give it an evolution because of:

1. They wanted it to be a counterpart to Mr.Mime.

2. It's kinda unpopular overseas due to being politically incorrect to people unfamiliar to contemporary Japanese culture.

I think any evolution of Jynx would open up another can of worms.

What bothers me more is that Mr. Mime and Jynx have such adorable pre-evolutions, and then they evolve into a couple of the creepiest, ugliest Pokemon ever.

I happen to love Jynx, she's a favorite I think her grotesque appearance adds to my admiration for her. I'm also the only person I've ever known who raised a smoochum to 100....semi-waste

Starting from generation IV Sudowoodo and mr. mime now are counterparts.

Because Jynx has been the sight of controversy ever since its insurrection internationally and Nintendo does not want to have any more legal problems as a result.
The same goes for the absence of Kadabra cards in the OCG/TCG.

IIRC the "psychic" Uri Geller sued because Kadabra's Japanese name was similar to his and it carried a bent spoon, and as he was famous for being spoons "with his mind" he saw it as a caricature or a mockery or something like that.

Which makes no sense because he could have used Kadabra as a springboard to enhance his own career.

Anyone else find it funny that Magmotar is so fat and dumpy yet his speed stat is enormous? Heh. He's a pretty cool pokemon. I like his design... I think he's supposed to be a robot or something.

I'm not sure why the Jynx thing is in debate. In the US, Jynx was not a popular pokemon. They had other better ice pokemon, and half the US thinks Jynx is some terrible racial stereotype... I'm not surprised that it never got an evolution. Maybe it will at some point, but for now, the Smoochum is good enough.

Actually, Magmortar's speed is just average, and that's really his main problem, other than his Fire typing, in battling. But I tend to think he's based on roasted duck, that's all I ever think of when I look at him.

I agree on the Jynx thing. Blackface happened to Jynx, and the US viewers did not like it. I'm surprised it even got a pre-evolution in Smoochum, but given the racial issues it has in the US, I think it's pretty much doomed to obscurity like Porygon.

Yeah, well, that shows how stupid americans are. And how hypocritical. A lot of the people in my home town are racist but they'll also be right along with the group bashing Jynx because it looks like a racist symbol.

In Diamond, Pearl and Platinum they are, but if you consider the full national dex as a whole, it make sense to have Mr.Mime and Jynx be counterparts to one another, especially now that each has a baby form to go with it.
