I think it would have been cool. When I first watched 'Battle Frontier' and saw his debut I thought It could be the start of him competing full time, obviously not, but I think that would have been very cool.

He was awesome in the contest (almost beat May)
Since Jhoto, he's been given one cutesy, appealing Pokemon after another (Mudkip/Bonsly/Happiny) all of those would have suited contests perfectly.

Imagine Croagunk in a contest! Awesome.

He wouldn't have lost his identity and be so insignificant, plus he would have had a much closer relationship/friendly rivalry with Dawn.

Not to mention he could whip up some great Pokeblock.

And maybe meet a female rival/long term love interest.

It seems to me like another wasted opportunity.

If he did it full-time he probably would have been good at it.

But y'know, its Brock. I knew he would never enter another contest after that one he was in. It would take too much screentime away from May or Dawn if he did it with them.

True but they could have handled it right. After all if Brock leaves and we get another coordinator and a new guy (presumably with more of a purpose than Brock) then they're gonna have to balance contests/gym battles/Pokethlon (or whatever) without taking screetime away from each.

If they're gonna do that now then they could have done that then.

Brock would have been the best rival Dawn has had >.>

LOL Had Brock been one of Dawn's rivals, he'd been like Kenny of the rivals. I don't mind, at least it'd give him some thing to do...

I'm not sure how good he is with making attacks look cool, but I think he'd still make a fine one honestly.

Eh, I can't imagine Takeshi doing sparkly things. Unless if he was in his bishounen mode...

I actually love this idea, great thread. Brock would definitely shine, and I think it'd be great for him.

I will always love BROCK, to me he is an awesome character, and the female running gags never get old.

Maybe the whole 'new dream Is born' thing doesn't mean he's leaving. He might just take something up. He's fixable, we all know he's capable of being likable. Now he just needs something to do.

Why now after 12+ years?

Well, he's familiar, he's already established, and he's workable. I get your point. I wont cry myself to sleep if he leaves but I would be pleased if they decided to keep him in and give him something to do instead.

That would go against the purpose of promoting the new BW characters. Sure, its possible he can stay, but they cannot make him stand out compared to the new people.

It would be interesting. Imagine a rivalry between Brock and Dawn, it'd be my favorite on the show. XD He'd sure whip up a mean poffin.

Maybe having 3 characters do something is a bit much for the writers and maybe even the fans to handle. That's why I always loved Brock's company, cause he was funny, and wasn't a burden.

He has become a burden, and its painfully obvious in DP.

Lol, we never see eye to eye. That's fine though, I guess we can agree to disagree. But Brock to me is a great father figure to the show, and he is very knowlegeable.

If Brock left, I wouldn't be upset, but I would miss him. I miss Tracey and Max at times, I wouldn't mind them returning in Brock's place if Brock did leave.

I think he could beome a recurring character to the main cast if he became a coordinator or even travelled to the same region as Dawn or MAy the next saga and become one of their rivals. Brock would be really tough to beat in a contest beause he's level-headed, smart and knows how to bring out the best in his pokemon. Brock would be a great coordinator. Not only that his dream of being a breeder would be complimented by this because they overlap so much.
