What if Misty went to Alola with Ash!
What Pokemon do you see her catching?; In which direction would you like to see her character go while in Alola?; would you watch the Sun & Moon anime? why or why not?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Me personally I love Misty but I don't know if I would want her to return as a full time companion because though she still has a huge fanbase there are still people who will hate her more then they already do if she were to go to Alola with Ash and I don't want to see this wonderful character trashed more then she already is.
Of course I would watch the Sun & Moon anime should she return to travel with Ash because I think it would be awesome to see what they do with her character, hopefully not ruining her in the process; and I would love for her to get a Popplio and the Alola variant Vulpix. it is an ice type Pokemon but it's close to water and she does own Pokemon who can learn ice type moves so I think it would be a very interesting Pokemon to have.

I would like the writers to focus on her goal again but more in depth to becoming a Water Pokemon Master. we still don't know too much about how one achieves that; plus since it is a tropical region maybe they have water competitions and that can be something she could do or she could do the Island trials like we know Ash will do.
It really wouldn't be to much of a competition between them considering their goals are slightly different. we could also see how strong she has gotten too; and if she travels with Ash in Alola and when the journey comes to an end maybe she could decide to travel on her own to get even more experience towards her goal instead of being stuck at the Cerulean gym for the rest of her life.

Personally, I'd love it if Misty joined Ash. An Ash, Brock, and Misty reunion would be nice for the 20th anniversary of the anime, though I really think Mallow is joining Ash.

Same here to be honest because it would be really nice to see those three together again. :D I actually love Mallow already and I hope she travels with Ash.

I wouldn't be in favor of that happening for multiple reasons. First of all, I'm not a huge fan of Misty, but her fanbase has been glorifying her for quite some time, so seeing her return to the main cast would be annoying for me in that regard. While it could be interesting to see Misty and her goal handled better, I'd much rather see a brand new character who could tie in more with Sun/Moon. Besides that, it seems way too little, too late to do anything with Misty and her goal, even for the 20th anniversary for the anime coming up. It just sounds more like a fan fiction rather than something the writers would really be interested in doing.

Plus, I don't think it's accurate to say that Misty is stuck at the Cerulean Gym for the rest of her life. Being a Gym Leader doesn't mean that she can never leave. We've seen plenty of Gym Leaders doing other things and traveling away from their Gym, especially in DP. It also gives the impression that she is trap there or is unable to grow as a Gym Leader, but she seemed pretty happy to be a Gym Leader, even with how busy she can be, so I wouldn't say that she's stuck. She can still go on journeys by herself, which would benefit her more than returning to the main cast anyway since she wouldn't have to share screentime with Ash. Sure, it would be off-screen and we'd be lucky to see any sign of older characters like Misty at this point, but that's still probably better than how she could be written if she was traveling with Ash again.

I Whole-Heartedly Agree; I DON'T Want Misty to Come back Either; It's about TIME we had something that we Agreed on!!!!!!! ^_^ and as of the Beginnning of XY, and to this VERY Day, I'm not a big fan of Misty either. :D(y)

I really would love it if Misty makes a return in the anime, if not nothing else for at least the season. Heck, even if just for a few episodes. Brock, too!

I can see her being in Alola for vacation, research, or some other personal mission. Maybe she can be something of a mentor to Serena, being an older and more seasoned trainer than her.

Definitely would watch it.

I'm pretty sure Serena's odds of going on are infinitely greater than misty's.

Not really. The chances of either one of them going to Alola to travel with Ash are pretty much nonexistent. Serena is more recent than Misty and thus the target audience would be more familiar with her, but that's pretty much her only advantage. Besides that, they've already setup for Serena's departure a long time ago and going to Alola wouldn't benefit her goal at all, so there's no chance that Serena is going to Alola either.

Maybe Misty can also give her a Water Pokemon. I could see some of Misty's Pokemon evolving too and her acquiring new ones too

Do I see it actually happening? Not at all, the new writers have showed me that they will barely even reference the original two seasons, let alone any of of the previous ones. Do I want to see it happen.... Yes and no.

It would be really cool to see the original gang on another journey. Misty and Brock could catch all sorts of new Pokemon, Misty would probably be in heaven with all the water around. It would be really cool if this did happen. It could even have some people, younger fans and older fans, going back an watching the series if they haven't before.

But at the same time, I don't know how well it would appeal. To the older fans, it would be great, because most would remember. But to kids who never saw the older series (and probably don't have good access to it either) will have no idea of this gang's previous endeavors. References to older series here and there are goo because you don't have to watch the whole series it's referencing to get it. Thats why I like those references (and really with the XY series had more of them).

I think what I would rather see is when Ash goes home, all his previous adventure partners, and maybe even a rival or two (Gary Oak) all meet him there to surprise him as a welcoming home. I don't know for sure, but I think they have done this before, but not in a while. It would be great to see all the old traveling partners, the friends Ash made on his journey. I think this would be really cool for many of the younger fans, to meet Ash's old traveling companions, but also very satisfying for some of the older fans, so they can see the characters they grew up with. And it would work for any fan, the ones who started in the original series, all the way to the ones who started watching the anime with XY. Maybe make it a special, so it's around 45 minutes.

As for Ash's journey through Alola, I want to see him get a new supporting cast. I think it would be interesting if it was Mallow, and I'm curious who else would follow Ash. It was funny though, the other night I had a dream about the anime, where my Pokemon Trianer OC, a researcher named Brianna, was one of Ash's traveling companions in Alola, along with Brock, and the female trainer for Sun and Moon. The funny dreams I have sometimes.

I wouldn't want Misty to be the main female companion for Ash in Alola-she had her time (which I really liked). However, I would like to see her again for a visit or for Ash to have a reunion among his friends. Alola is a great excuse-there could be some type of island vacation gathering. I feel like a lot of anime have specials where previous main characters interact with newer ones-this could be that instance. If Ash's Pokemon are shown enjoying that luxury, then I think so too should his best friends.

Would love if they did for the episodes before and after the 1000th episode

Misty who?

Seriously, I'm wondering how many new Pokémon fans even know who Misty is, beyond possibly that she was a gym leader in earlier games. And how long has is been since we've seen her in the anime? Was it the Mirage Pokémon special?

Personally because I liked Misty character appreciating what she brought to pokemon anime im in support for her return. Because staying forgotten in past rotting at gym is not doing any favor to her character and fans to be honest.

Out of RESPECT and what she represented, her story and everything which defined Misty we all know and love deserves update and sense of progression with something coming out of her. New generations of kids should get to know about first pokemon girl and how important she was for this anime history and Ash growth. And it would be welcomed that older fans get to see her updated, how much Misty life and character itself changed after all this time. Is her friendship with Ash still close being acknowledged alongside her own story receiving follow up. Story which was left unfinished leaving a lot more to be desired.

I would actually like to see her return to main cast for at very least one more full season. I believe showing her ranking up from gym leader position to E4 member entering tournaments like Whirl Cup, battling other strong trainers, catching new pokemon and looking for new ways in how to bring pokemon inner power on surface(like mega evolution). Would hold a lot of potential to deliver original and enjoyable story. Potential personality development too exploring her fear of bugs through pokemon like Surskit, searching for parents who abandoned her and sisters(according to head writer for Os Takeshi Shudo Misty grew up without parents) and if she still feel same way about Ash now with Serena being put in picture.

Being interested to see her play important role in pokemon again and in what way her presence would influence storyline.

No really Alola region as whole heavily oriented toward water, islands, oceans and aqua related villains(like Team skull) and sports is natural and very plausible environment for water enthusiast like Misty. I mentioned it already in couple of other threads how Sun and Moon region based on Hawaii resembling in its essence Orange Islands quest with pirate, hidden bays and islands setting would deliver much needed substantial material to do justice tro Misty character. What from her desire to become water pokemon master doing follow up through elemental tournaments and trying out new ways of measuring type specialist resourcefulness through something like underwater battles(no one can deny how suspense and attractive this kind of battling can be).

Have Misty explore on all kind of new Alola exclusive water pokemon or already existing ones who because of different clime and environment evolved in unique forms. As we get to see with Alola Exeggutor, Meowth, Vulpix etc, etc.
Enriching on her expertize and knowledge as water trainer.

Deepen on her friendship with Ash remembering on their past adventures, memories and how they feel about themselves after so much time. Reviving on that humor, sarcasm, suspense, encouragement and full of natural, diverse and realism dynamic.
Give us info on what's been happening with redhead we all knew and loved for past 10 years, how much she improved, did she evolved in personality and emotional aspect, what unique adventures she had been through and using that collected wisdom and experience to apply in her Alola adventure going on greater heights as water pokemon specialist.

Because:
A)its never too late to develop another character in anime more, give him redemption to make viewers rethink of their current stance about him/her which could change toward either more positive or negative direction. As well making us learn more about someone like Misty whose story was left unfinished leaving a lot more to be answered.

B)its well known fact how Misty was written out in such a way that she could with relative ease return in pokemon series without feeling forced or going against what her character and ideals are. Since Misty never gave up on her dreams of reaching E4 member status and becoming water master taking over gym out of necessity and obligation. Later confirming through her actions and dialogue in chronicles but in her AG cameos as well how main reason behind staying at gym is due to sisters incompetence not having anyone to rely on for time being, implying desire to travel again.

And that could have changed in last 10 years giving Misty opportunity to advance her own dreams and storyline since she cannot achieve her goals without hitting road ever again.
Thank that to writers in leaving Misty situation with Cerulean gym and future completely unclear giving her thus open window to be easily important again.

p.s. Not to mention 2017 will be 20th anniversary of pokemon anime, so from marketing and symbolic standpoint revival of one of three most iconic and heavily popular pokemon protagonists who helped start this show in first place would make lot of sense, Further justifying Misty return in pokemon series playing some actual meaningful role in Alola saga.

And yes some may not be pleased with this outcome, but im sure most pokemon fans would be reasonable and open minded enough to not immediately dismiss such initiative giving it fair chance.
If they would being willing to be as radical in skipping entire saga because of Misty character, than that's their loss.
"Like someone you disliked cannot become likable to you"*sarcasm*
This depends on how he/she matured/evolved and in what direction it was taken with Misty actually in late Johto/Hoenn balancing out her fiery and more serene side gaining new fresh traits to her already existing characterization(and in process didn't abandoned her old self, hence why I enjoyed in how she turned out in chronicles and Hoenn).

Than why not do something about that changing current situation? I know it passed ALOT of time, but pretending like Misty never existed leaving her buried in past certainly isn't helping out either her, newer generations in becoming better familiarized with this anime roots or continuity as whole.

Not to mention one would think that after such a long absence even those who do not care would at very least be mildly interested in seeing how much tomboyish mermaid many of us grew up with has changed and in what way her comeback(which would be fresh and unexpected twist to story as whole)would influence Alola adventure which is absolutely perfectly suited with material, logistic and plots to do follow up. Follow up Misty deserves due to never being given justice to her character, goals and unresolved story.

Seems to me that most people don't want Misty to return is due to Serena and the whole Amourshipping that is attached to her.

I wonder if people forget that Misty changed when we saw her again in AG
