What if poison status could reduce by half special damage like burn halfs physical damage?

this should have already been done or not?
paralyze reduces speed by half or 3/4.

This idea is neat, and I'd be interested in seeing it implemented, but it might be too cruel for a standard run. Poison's already a tricky thing to deal with.

No. No. NO.

I'll agree ONLY if this dosen't work with Toxic. Toxic is already a strong weapon, no need for it to cripple special attackers, too.
yes but they could nerf poison like burn and add that effect of halfing special damage.
Bad poison and regular poison should be diffrent.

If anything I think poison should be nerfed by having toxic become normal poison after a pokemon is recalled.

This one is good one.
Then what status condition could reduce special damage by half like burn does with physical?
or maybe make them like paralyze and reduce only 25% down (75% of max)???

(Then maybe what? make freeze work less turns and then reduce special attack by half till end of battle even after refreezing?)

The problem is bad poisoning.

If we were purely talking about regular poison, then I'd be all for the special attack drop akin to burn's reduction to physical attack. But bad poisoning throws a wrench into this.

However, if they made poisoned and badly poisoned two distinct statuses, I'd be fine with the change being given to regular poison while badly poisoned remains as it is.

Nah, poison already has its own special thing.

Well, here's part of the problem: badly poisoned has its own special thing. But regular poison doesn't.

I don't see regular poison seeing usage even after this change. Toxic can take its toll on the foe after a while, and is the more 'advanced' version of poison so, it makes sense that regular poison is weaker than toxic poison.

would be cool if regular poison would get such a buff and if they would make poison staus more distinct.

No. As others have said, toxic poison with this effect would be too much. It wouldn't make any sense for just regular poison to get it, because the entire point of toxic poison is being a stronger version of poison. Plus, remember that the majority of poison-type moves have a 30% chance of poisoning. The slight underwhelmingness of poison compared to the other status conditions is justified by how how frequently it'll come into play without even using an actual status move.

I'd much rather see a frostbite status get introduced as an alternative ice-type status, one that could actually be inflicted without relying on hax. It would work like burn, only halving special attack.

or maybe a distinct ice status? even if the target would get frozen(and then re-frozen) or would be under frostibe then its special attack could get half.

How about this: Instead of calling them "poisoned" and "badly poisoned," why not call them like: "infected" and "poisoned," respectively?

As an ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK-minded player, I have to object to making things easier for Stall teams.

ALSO as an HYPE ATTACCCKKK! player, I object to making Stall the most OP battle tactic. Heck! This would probably make Toxapex uber! Carry one layer of toxic spikes, and, half of all the attackers crippled (damage loss bundled free of charge!)
