Pocket Monsters is way, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more episodic than DBZ ever was, so it would be harder to splice episodes the way they're doing with Kai.

Plus, the show isn't really old enough to warrant a "remastered" version yet.
So your point? A lot of the DBZ fillers were amusing and not bad; my brother's worried they'll cut the Afterlife Tournament out (which was pretty damn good, but never-the-less a filler arc). Not to mention a lot of fillers in Pokemon are very funny episodes, and still add to the overall story in some form if they have good screentime for a certain Pokemon.
hypothetically, what would you say if they animated Dengeki! Pikachu?
Holy crap, this.hypothetically, what would you say if they animated Dengeki! Pikachu? That's right, an adapation of an adaption of an adaption of an adaption. XD
But what I'm really getting at is that Dengeki! already seems to have spliced the episodes.
so there's no such things as episodes being padded to fill more time.
All Kai does is ... get rid of the filler episodes.
I think they should go back and update it with new 'Mons. Like, for instance, the Maiden's Peak episode. They should have Gastly turn into a Zangoose instead of a run-of-the-mill mongoose.
