Since the gen 6 games will most likely use 3d models instead of sprites what if the gen 6 anime adaption used cgi(both partly and fully) for all the pokemon like the Kirby anime did, would it be a good idea or bad one?

BW was supposed to be CGI? That would of been....well um... it would of taking a lot of getting used too.

I don't think I would like seeing the Pokemon in CGI. The CGI in BW isn't that great, so having all of the Pokemon be animated like that wouldn't be that great. Not to mention that it would be kind of jarring to see them next to the trainers if they weren't designed in CGI models. I'd prefer if they kept the animation basically the same with CGI models for openings/endings instead.

Oh, god, that would be horrible. Conspicuous CGI is already present in some movies, but most attempts at CGI Pokémon are awful. Imagine how bad Pokémon from Filler Town would look like?

Ew, no. The horrendous CGI is one of the worst aspects of the series as it is.

No
the CGI for the attacks is just horrible while it looks good it just looks weird on the 2D dimension the anime is set in
CGI anime no no no thats just weird

That would be the completely wrong direction to take the show. Not everything animated needs to be in CGI.

If the anime wants to win the award for most hideous show on TV, then I say go for it.

Debate on what direction pokemon will go for on the 3DS aside, this would be horrendous for the anime. Full CGI animated shows never looked right to me, unless they were done by Mainframe. The style of Pokemon especially doesn't make for good CGI. I point to the original BW opening for reference. It might pass for games, for a show, they just can't get the quality without blowing their entire budget at once.

And heck, they already have some the ugliest animation in the Anime Industry as it is (BW is a step back!)!

They should save CGI for the movies. Heck, one the things I like about them is their blend of traditional and computer animation (I'm a sucker for when the two work together).

A fully computer animated Pokemon thing sounds like it would be...funny looking.

NO. JUST NO.

CGI looks bad, and the Pokémon anime did that? It would gain lower views, and lower views = lower cash = no more anime?

The character cg in Digimon X Evolution is the only thing I would know to compare this to, and I just felt that was way too busy. With 2D animation, it doesn't really get as cluttered. Pokemon just don't look right in 3D models, they don't pull off fur or any other kind of body features realistically, so everything just looks kinda slick, be it a plant or a mammal or a fish. In 2D animation you can get away without that detail, but it just looks cheap and shoddy in 3D.

That's why they won't start using 3D models in main series games, and why they won't in the anime.

i love the cg effects, but i don't want the anime as a whole to be cg.

NO Just No! the CGI wingull in the bw2 trailer had me go off in a rage because the cgi ruined them. 2. anime can only be done in CGI if it happens to work out correctly such as in kirby. 3 allmost all attacks are CGI which are overdramatized and just plain annoying.

I remember when anime was all HAND DRAWN and should have stayed that way ( exept for kirby)

No, I don't want that to happen. I don't think the Pokémon anime would look good in CGI. Besides, CGI needs a lot of work and cash for it to be done right, and I think they have neither the time nor the budget. See, the CGI already on the show sucks.

CGI looks good when it comes to certain attacks but with ever scene, no. It makes it look almost robotic.
