What if the anime was different

I was wonder what if the anime storyline had followed a little closer to the games and was darker (more teenager range) in story feel, where the organization of Team Rocket (not just Jessie and James) had a greater impact on story-line and more serious (Although Jessie and James would be like what they were at the start of the series a mixture of seriousness and comedic but they stay that way), characters were given more depth (like Lt surge is a disillusioned war veteran)

If it followed the games, yes. If it had a darker, teenager feel, no.

No, the anime doesn't need to be about things that are appealing to my age group. We aren't the target demographic.

It would be called a "dark fic". And I know all about those. Regardless, if it were closer to the games, yeah, it would be awesome. Or rather, if it followed the game plot but took liberties with it, like PokéSpe and other Pokémon manga does. Otherwise, it would be a footnote in the history of merchandise-driven cartoons, like She-ra or whatever that show was called.

It will be appealing to me for sure. But since the main target is children, making the show more childish as possible seem to be the requirement. The better stories of Pokemon you read and play, along with the mature feel, asks you to pay money on those, as the TV show is more available to us for less of a cost.

I feel the show, BW right now, has gotten more childish is not only for the target audience, but also lessen the seriousness that Japan (and maybe the world) is suffering, which we all should know about.

I believe the show is perfectly fine the way it is, and I do love it this way. Of course, I would never mind a more tennager-y turn to the anime and would completely appreciate one or two deaths, but considering that the show is targeted towards kids and most of the main characters in the anime are themselves kids, I think that the current state of the anime is justified.

Were J and Akagi's deaths not enough?...
Well, the thing is, I was referring to on-screen deaths, Sure, Cyrus did die, but it was not shown on-screen. (J, I believe, did not die as her drifting goggles implied that she had indeed fled her ship; I remember how sad I was when I realized that the cruel hunter is still alive! :().

Sure, the anime does bring in the topic of death once in a while, but none of them are on-screen deaths except in the movies, which are not canon anyways, and I completely appreciate that, considering how kids, who are the target audience, must be kept away from mature and heart-heavy topics like death. It's just that I feel that one or two on-screen deaths would add to the intensity of the show, that's all (though the XY series is still pretty intense without any deaths; and I like that ;). Guess my favorite anime does not need deaths to be intense :coffee:(y)(y)).

I think it would be a great idea for the show to push at the boundaries more like dp started to do but even further in terms of story and emotion and depth with in the characters
