This thread is meant to be taken lightly, in contrast to some of the other things that are going on.

Anyway, upon watching DP, you notice a bit of disconnection from time-to-time amongst the trio.

This is particularly between James and Meowth from Jessie. I think more times than any other season, I've seen James mope around Jessie. His lackluster recital of the motto, his sorrowful expressions when they're on the move, and the general slumps of depression he's gone through during Sinnoh. Meowth of course, is usually right there with him more often than not. He and James are pals. Examples of this come from the Breeder episode with the Electrike, and the direction they wanted to take compared to Jessie.

Jessie has always been the one to boss the other two around. It's safe to say that she puts herself out there as the leader of the 3. As such, her role has always consisted of kicking the other two in the ass when they didn't want to commit to a crime. She doesn't seem to put up well with James' sorrow and seems to have little patience for it. Upon the release of Cacnea she tried, but even then expected him to bounce right back into action.

There's also Jessie's solo career as a coordinator to consider. She's off attempting to formulate her own success in contests, leaving the other two Rockets behind. Upon doing so, she borrows a lot of James' Pokemon, which he doesn't seem to appreciate very much. This creates tension amongst the group.

So it's looking more and more like the Team Rocket Trio is losing it's spark! The fuse had been lit long time ago, the rockets went soaring, and the skies went ablaze. But like all, they can only last so long before the flame sizzles out and they're left to wither away. The rocket then becomes a shell of it's former self, losing all functionality.

What do you think it'd be like if TR split? =D What would they do? Would they oppose one another? Would James go for the League? And who would Meowth side with?

Discuss! And remember, don't take this seriously.

OMG, I've always wanted James to become good. Especially when his heart's not in it. James'd make an awesome good guy!!

Jessie should just go home. I've never really felt much of a connection, and Meowth could probably become a celebrity for talking and make tons of money, (I don't get why TR would never think of that. They should give some reason why he doesn't do that.)

I know this isn't a serious thread, but there are a few things I want to comment on before I give my opinion on what they'd do.

Upon the release of Cacnea she tried, but even then expected him to bounce right back into action.

For about two seconds until she realized how much it bothered him. It's not like she was being an ass for most of the episode wanting him to get moving again.

She hasn't borrowed his pokemon in a long time. But it hardly creates much tension when she does.

PUSA has a tendency to have James and Meowth bash Jessie when that's not what they're saying in Japanese. They actually feel like a close group in the original.

Now that I've probably already taken things more seriously than you intended, here's what I think would happen:

Musashi would obviously do Contests full time. I think we all know that.

Kojiro and Nyasu are a bit tricky. It's been ages since Kojiro entered any kind of competition (sometimes it feels like Takeshi does more) I don't think he'd go for the pokemon league, that seems a bit too much for him. Others have suggested a breeder before, and if he was on his own I could see him specializing in grass pokemon.

Nyasu would probably continue trying to catch pokemon for Sakaki. I don't think he'd side with anyone, he'd probably just go back and forth between the two. Musashi could have him one week, then Kojiro could have him the other for instance. Kinda like joint custody with a kid. :p

I don't think they'd oppose each other, or at least not for long. I'm sure Kojiro and Nyasu would still cheer Musashi on from the nearest TV.

I don't think they'd be able to stay apart for too long. Even though Musashi would never admit it, she'd eventually miss her friends and make up some excuse why she'd come back to Kojiro.

My theory on why they don't seem as tight-knit currently is because, despite being the inseperable group we know them to be, the focus having been shined more on the twerps and their Pokémon lately, so TR really hasn't done much aside from releasing/catching Pokémon and playing background roles, so we haven't been able to see their closeness as much as usual. We need more episodes focusing on 'em, stat! Which is why I'm looking forward to the weight loss episode, heh. That and it looks hilarious.

But, assuming by some freak force of nature in which they had to permanently seperate and Team Rocket the organization no longer existd, Jessie would go on to be a Coordinator.

James... hmm. I could see him starting up a Breeding Center, actually.

Meowth, with no Giovanni to pine over and for some reason forbidden to be with Jessie or James, would... uh. Hey, maybe he'd go live in Big Town where the Pichu Bros. live like he did in those non-canon specials. XD

A ridiculous idea. Jessie, James and Meowth are practically incapable of living without each other by now. They're too close. Like symbiotic beings. No matter how much they annoy each other, they're friends, and that's something they can't beat.

Really, it's like no one here watched "The Ole' Berate and Switch!". They regretted splitting up like a minute after doing so.

James seem like...he could be a good guy. Besides, aren't they better at selling stuff than they are at stealing it, in the episode where Ash was in the 4th round at the Indigo League? Maybe Jessie could open up her own shop, and become, like a fashion consultant. Meowth...he could become a Pokemon translater at some Pokemon center? He could translate for the patients.

Like Rocket Girl and others said, Jessie would probably go on a s acoordinator. maybe travel a region by herself for the ribbons.

Meowth would probably brainwash Giovaani to do....some things coughstripcough for money in some club. Either that, or he follows James around. Wobuffet would be the cameraperson.

With James I can see him opening a home for abandoned Pokemon or something. Maybe if(probably won't happen) his parents die then he can donate their homes to the cause or something.

Thinking about it now, I could see James going back to help Gardenia in Eterna City with the Grass Pokémon. It'd mean he'd get to get Cacnea back too. I think no matter what he did, he'd probably specialize in Grass-type Pokémon. (D'you think the Grass-type monopoly on James' team was deliberate on the writers' part after Victreebel?)

I'm not sure I could see it happening. Even the best friendships hit rough waters sometimes, and maybe that's why James has seemed so..."blah", lately.

If something happened and they did have to split up, I think Meowth would end up going with James, if he didn't go out on his own. Jessie would do contests, and maybe when she wasn't doing that pursue some kind of job LIKE it, such as being an actress or a model (not to say she would be a major success at it). Giovanni is paying them right now, but if something happened to Team Rocket, she would still have to make a living. Most trainers/coordinators we see don't have to do this because they're young tween and teenagers...I suspect they get most of the funding they need from their parents.

If James needed money I think because of his past, he'd have the resources and connections to get it. I don't think he'd ever end up marrying Jezebell, but I could see him going back home for a short while. Again he'd realize how miserable it is with Jezebell around, get his finances together, and get out on his own. Maybe he would take his Growlithe with him. I could see him opening up a little shop of some kind, like a florist shop or like someone else suggested, a pokemon breeder. I don't know if he'd have what it takes to take on the pokemon league, or be a trainer...James seems like he'd be more suited to a laid back lifestyle, if you ask me.

We all know that. They're closer than the twerps could ever hope to be. This whole thread is completely hypothetical.

THANK YOU! For letting me know that I was clear enough in my topic statement. I was like "Do I need to bold the last four letters that read 'don't take this seriously'?"

But you mention so much as a joke about the idea and the rocketeers gets all offended and defensive, pointing out how tight the group is like it isn't already apparent. Goodness.

Anyway, I agree with you on the idea of James opening a Breeding Center. I think he shows a lot of good-natured and kind-heartedness, and they've always been very caring towards Pokemon. He showed his willingness to help them in the Electrike episode referenced above. And there's that apparent soft spot he has for all the small or smuthering Pokemon he receives (which is pretty much what his team usually consists of). I think that'd be a great idea.

It's not that obvious to a lot of people, which is why we get so defensive about it.

If Team Rocket split up for good, the Pokemon universe would implode.

No joke. The fabric of reality would be rent like a wet dollar-store paper towel. I've seen the simulations.

I really do think James has it in him to be a good guy, should the world implode upon itself and TR splits up ;) I can see him being a breeder (specializing in Grass-types, of course, maybe also in Poison-types), but hasn't it been canon since the beginning that his dream was to challenge the league? Since I just recently re-watched the episode "Arriving in Style," I could possibly see him going into or starting a business selling accessories or something. Meowth would be with him.

Jessie would become a full-time Coordinator, no question.

That's difficult to imagine. The most I can imagine is that Jessie becomes a star and Meowth and James become her impresarios. I think they do not have to spilt up even if Jessie is to become a star.

Uh, I mention twice that it should be taken lightly, both as the introduction to the thread, and as the closure to the topic post. How much more obvious can I get? Are you suggesting that I should bold the letters or spell it out with dashes in between the lettering? Two people did not find it apparent, and wouldn't you know it, both practically have "Rocket" scribed on their foreheads. This is "a lot"?

I'm saying that's it's not that obvious to a lot of people that they still have a close bond, which is why we get defensive when someone implies they don't. I know you didn't mean to have someone take this thread seriously.

I think that will become obvious when the ep they recite their old motto air in US. So no need to be so sensitive.

Well it's actually already pretty apparent.

I mean everything I wrote in the topic sentence was an exaggerration, but there is some truth to it in that they have butted heads quite a bit this season, and it seems to be a running gag that he often recite the motto depressed because of some sort of refusal to cooperate with the task. Despite that however, each episode they recoil to the same state of their friendship as before the little incident. They still show a tight bond, especially when it matters. You see them stick up for one another, etc...

What I did was just take all the poor examples and extend them.

I wasn't getting defensive at all. I know it's a completely hypothetical question. I was just saying why I just can't bring myself to think of them being apart. To me, they're too much of a single unit to even start thinking about it.
