What if the two new characters are Dawn and Ash's rivals?

Instead of following Ash? I don't know if it's been confirmed that Dawn IS leaving for sure and they'll be with Ash, or one of them will be... but what if Dawn and Ash continue on TOGETHER and they both find new rivals in the "older" people? They're older... so they may be more rival-y to them?

I dunno. Has anyone else thought of this?

Hmm... hate Dawn. Interesting. Why do you hate her? Nobody I've talked to yet hates her. :p Granted, I love Misty more than any character. Dawn is still my favorite who actually has a chance to be a permanent character.

I really hope that happens. And glad to be in good company!
 
I have been thinking about it lately,and judging by their age being confirmed how both game protagonists(black and white) will be this time older,it does bring question of them even joining main cast.
It surely wouldnt be first time that character from games didnt become part of main cast.

If that happens it would be great idea in my opinion new girl becoming Ash rival(he is in desperate need for one),and boy could become Dawn rival in contests.

At least with Dawn staying cycle of girl replacing will break,and it would make more sense to keep her if next generation has contests again instead of introducing new one doing same thing,but in my opinion it would be even better Misty coming back(to advance her goal of becoming world best water trainer which she cant become at gym) for next saga instead of Dawn or Brock,keeping Dawn having two girls for first time in group.

QFT, I totally agree with every word! Dawn is the best main character ever and Piplup is the most awesome Poké!

LOL XD The crazy people are the best members here!!! Gliscor'd the inasne, Iteru the penguin in denial and me the best Poké ever... I think you forgot a certain bug, a land shark that used to be an electric type and some crazy Yusuf... yeah, these are the top members of this forums and I'm proud to be their awesome leader


Now, to get back on topic (though this forum's members' insanity is much more interesting) sadly, I'm convinced that Dawn wins the GF and leave (possibly travel with Zoey)
I think BW cast will be:
- Ash, doing Gyms, get the grass starter
- BW girl, doing Contests, get the water starter
- BW boy, doing whatever, get the fire starter (the fire starter could go to Ash or girl in addition to their other starter, if they prefer the starring characters to own all starters and not give it to a sidekick)

Of course, I still hope Dawn will somehow stay... but I know it's highly unlikely to happen (but I could really picture her in BW girl's clothes - they're exactly the same colors as Dawn's: black, white and pink)

Either the BW girl will be 10 in the anime, or she'll be older but had some reason not to start her journey until now (no way we'll get an experienced character to the cast and not see someone start his journey in the first ep)
BW boy could go either way
 
I would love the fact a goddamn male player character finally appears in the main series.
I would write a rant about why we have to suffer Dawn and Piplup getting a brain and power reboot along with Ash and Pikachu getting their regional reboots. And another rant about why Ursula is not Dawn's rival anymore. But still, I will probably be happy with the fact we don't have to suffer another mascot who doesn't evolve.

And miss good ol' Piplup abuse and Gible bites and hope for a filler arc for this gen so the land shark can return and continue biting and Draco Meteoring the penguin like a good ol' days.

Yeah ! I'm part of the crazies !!!

That's what I think is most likely to happen with both BW boy and girl being de-aged.

That or Ash wins the League, but goes to Isshu to train before challenging the E4, probably by doing their battle frontier. BW girl does gyms, BW boy does contests, both of them de-aged.
 
If Dawn wins the GF, she should leave. Brock will leave and the new female and a new male will replace them.
 
I really can't see 3 active characters in the cast like you say Gible, not to mention the girl doing Gyms and the boy doing Contests... it doesn't make much sense to do it this way

I guess we'll have to wait and see... it's really interesting what they'll do in the next series
I wonder when they'll announce the next series and what exactly the announcement will include... I think back around AG's end, we got that poster of Dawn with Dialga/Palkia, which made us know Dawn will play an important role and also revealed her anime design (which is not identical to the games, with her black hair and eyes changed to blue)
I hope we get something like that soon to give us some kind of hint to the future, but nothing obvious like that pic of the entire AG cast and starters - they should never spoil something like that again, just throw a little hint like Dawn's poster

When did that Dawn poster came out?
At the end of the Zoroark movie, they'll probably announce the title of the next movie like they always do... so the title should be revealed by the movie's release (or at worst, on the day the movie is actually released)
 
I kinda don't see the point of Dawn having a new rival, since she'll be leaving at the end of Gen IV. But I can visualize Ash making a new rival in the Gen V boy.
 
While it would be an interesting idea and would also mean that Dawn would stay, I'm not sure if I like the thought of Dawn having new rivals as I like her current ones. Even if the currents were to stick around, they'd all be hardpressed for focus.

For Ash I don't particularly care as long as he gets a rival. From what I've seen of AG, no rival is boring.

I would be really happy if two new characters become Ash and Dawn rival's, just because I want Dawn to stay and Piplup, but in other hand boy from game appearing first time in anime would be awesome, also I would love the fact if BW boy and girl know each other and some kind of "couple" rivaly would take place, I'm not shipper and s**t, maybe I sound like one but I see this as cool and awesome.
 
Good lord, you Dawn fanboys are really in denial. I guess this is what's happening now as we're getting to the end of DP's run.

Get over it. Every other female left, Dawn will too.

That's the most likely scenario, however, I see no harm in speculating about the chances of her staying.

Anyway, I really like the idea of the two characters being their rivals. This way, we get a chance to see the BW boy.

I wouldn't go so far as to say they would be a couple, but it would be cool if the BW Boy and BW Girl traveled together.

... maybe instead of friends, they could be siblings? It's just a suggestion, I don't know if that would go over well because I know that's been done before because of May and Max, but this time, they could both be on a journey.
 
Coordinators tend to stick with the same rivals.

They wouldn't get rid of Zoey (or Kenny and Ursula to a lesser extent), just to give Dawn all-new rivals;

Dawn would likely leave behind all her Pokemon except for Piplup, essentially resetting Piplup's power like they do to Pikachu, etc. Likewise, if Dawn wins the GF, how in the world do people think she's staying? There would be no build-up to see Dawn win a second Grand Festival.

I really don't understand why this is being discussed. We knew from the very beginning Dawn would likely leave when DP ends. Everyone agreed. Now all of a sudden we're getting to the end, and people are suddenly in some case of denial?

^ I think that says a lot. I don't know where this sudden rise of Dawn fanboyism is coming from. You guys kept it under control all saga, and now its all coming out?

Dawn possibly leaving should not be a *shock* to anyone. And if she does leave you always have old eps to rewatch.
