What if they released a DVD of all the banned episodes

I wouldn't; not many banned episodes so it'll be a waste of money.
 
IF that happened...HENTAI sales would sky rocket and literraly restore the economy...bringing pokeman 2 every boy n girl out there in usa...seriously:]
 
I think the Porygon episode would be all right, since they adapted the flashing and such to not cause seizures. But if it was just a standalone DVD, I wouldn't buy it. If it came as a bonus with one of the box sets or something, though, I wouldn't mind. :D Or if they'd just... show them in the first place, but I suppose that's asking for too much, haha.

That episode had an international ban, though, so that's kind of irrelevant.

What other episodes were "banned" anyway that still has yet to get a dub?

"Legend of Dratini" episode, banned because of guns. Some Jynx episode in Johto was banned too. The inflated boobs episode was dubbed, but heavily cut. :B
 
There was also a Barboach ep from Hoenn that never even aired in Japan, because there were earthquakes in Japan right before the episode aired and it was pulled because the Barboach/Wishcash in the ep used Earthquake.

I think the whole point of the episodes being BANNED is so you can't watch them in anyway, except maybe YouTube.
 
Assuming a copy would still be at the stores by the time I got there (not because they'd have all been sold out, but because they were called back due to so many complaints from people), I'd buy it, but the whole concept of it is... awkward.

There's no way Pokemon would get away with selling a DVD called "The Banned Episodes." (IMO, the episodes would be better off being put with the rest of the episodes on the regular DVD sets. And even that's a lot to ask for.) If such a DVD was released, there'd be so much infamy that would come out of it.

They wouldn't have to call it "The Banned Episodes". They could call it "The Lost Episodes". I believe that's how they advertised "Beauty and the Beach".

If these episodes were available in any way, shape or form, I'd buy them. I'm that much of a nerd. :p
 
Hm... There just aren't enough "banned" episodes for me to buy a DVD for. Maybe if they threw in a bunch of regular first/second season episodes too.

Eh, true. So that would appeal to kids (and maybe some older former fans), they'd buy the DVDs, THEN parents would complain... =/

Nope, not to my knowledge. I remember when the original Kanto Dub started, I remember watching all original episodes at the time, and thought that the safari zone was a protected area where no one could catch pokemon (I didn't play the games then) because that episode was cut, because of the gun. It was the episode where as caught his 30 tarous right? I always wondered where he got them from, then I found out.

I'd buy a "lost episodes" DVD in a second. XD Nice dream, but there's no way it will happen. Well, not in the forseeable future, anyway. We are dealing with the companies that put out DVDs with extremely low picture quality, zero extras, and only the English lanuage track.
 
As in a DVD which features ALL the banned episodes? I doubt it.
I know that "Beauty and the Beach" was dubbed but considering how I do not collect the DVDs/box sets, I would not know if it is on those collections.
Ice Cave episode was not dubbed.
The Barboach/Whiscash episode was banned even in Japan and I doubt that they provided the animation license to the other nations.
