The old version of this thread was lost so I decided to revive it. It'll probably be moved to The Grand Festival section.
With everyone here complaining about Best Wishes and the Anime in General left and right, I decided to bring this topic back: What if YOU were in charge of the Pokemon Anime? How would you handle and direct the animated adaptation of the Pocket Monsters games and write the stories to entertain fans of all ages? And I mean from the start so odds are there might not be any Ash Ketchum unless you create him from scratch.
I wish for you all to use your imagination for this and write out details on what you'd do and why. You can also discuss ideas with each other and more.
Me? Well, I'd probably adapt each generation separately but keep them in the same universe. In other words, Kanto would have it's own series, then Johto and so on rather than keeping Ash for everything, dragging out his story.
To make sure fans don't complain about replacing the characters, each set of characters from each generation would have distinct personalities and get proper character development. While their goals might be the same (become Champion), I'll make each protagonist different in personality. Also, for Hoenn and Sinnoh, May (a tomboy) and Dawn (a Genki Girl) would be the protagonist for their respective Gens for some gender diversity.
They'd also win the league each time. Sure, it's be predictable but it's better than losing if you ask me. Each main character would develop as a Trainer and win in a non-cheap way. They'd lose a fair share of battle up to the league, teaching the humility and making them work harder.
But enough about me, what about YOU?
