This question refers to the expensive machines, forms of transportation, standard traps (things like a net when they can’t afford anything elaborate) and other things that TR buys in their failed attempts to steal Pokemon. It does not count Jessie’s outfits and such for contest or other things to that nature.

The damage they cause like destroying buildings, digging holes that damage a floor or my personal favorite; their actions caused the Viridian City Pokemon Center to explode when all of the Pikachu’s electric attack hit Koffing’s toxic gas to make the blast turn into a building of fireworks.

I think that their giant machines that get to fight Pokemon answered an important question that I wondered about when I was a kid: Who would win in a fight, Pokemon or the Power Rangers in their megazord? Well by the way the machines get destroyed in the anime I say Pokemon win, haha!

So, what do you think runs up the TR bill more? Though one must consider that the places they damage or ruin are repaired by the person that owns the place. I just wonder how in the world they can afford these things. I think about how much money they actually get in a paycheck. Though one must think about how they work to earn money or sometimes steal things to create machines.

I would find it hilarious if they ever do something that makes them filthy and I mean filthy rich and they have more money than they could ever dream of. However, they would have to use it all to pay off all of their debts, loans, TR bills and other expenses. That would be downright hilarious.

The things TR buys. They are so focused on capturing Pikachu that they spend most of their funding on mechas to capture said Pokemon, and barely leaving any for food.

TR is completely stupid because of this and I'm glad someone made a thread. TR is trying to capture Pikachu yet they have possibly millons of dollars invested in a machines that somehow get destroyed by said pikachu. If they have all that money why the fuck do you need to get more by capturing a NFE that giovanni probably doesn't want anymore.

Anyways they spend more money on the things they buy and honestly I dont see them actually destroy much anymore. Rather just cause annoying disturbances.

Seriously, even if they DID manage to steal Pikachu, they spend more money on one of their high-tech (stupid-tech?) machines than Pikachu could ever net for Team Rocket.

With all that money, why not just buy rare pokemon...

Makes too much sense for TR to understand.

I picked the cost of capturing pikachu for the simple reasoning that most of their attacks happen in the middle of nowhere, so there isn't much of anything to destroy.

Interesting question. Never actually thought about it either (though who has?). I'm going to guess the things they buy because they purchase things a lot.

Yeah, I think that I would agree with the majority for the things that they buy. I’ve always wondered why they always follow Ash and Pikachu. Remember Pikachu’s Goodbye with the forest of Pikachu? I mean why didn’t they go back to that forest with a giant electric proof net or suits in Season 1, you know before moves like Iron Tail? They could have turned in that entire batch for some major cash. There are a lot of places that they should just return to that doesn’t have the protection of Ash and his friends.

I hope that if they ever do catch Pikachu, it won’t be a repeat of when they caught Yanma. Giovanni had just acquired an entire swarm of them already; I mean that was pretty useless in my opinion. I’m saying that it was too coincidental for TR to have just caught a bunch of the same Pokemon as Jessie. I don’t think that TR will just so happen as to have gotten an army of Pikachu. I bet that TR would beg and plead to show that Ash’s was different than other Pikachus.

You know it is really strange that their target seems a bit off. Koffing’s smoke was the reason that the place exploded in the first place. It wasn’t just Ash’s Pikachu that shocked them, it was the entire group of Pokemon Center Pikachu and I think that TR was just wrong in judgment for saying that this Pikachu was different than others (in a way it is, but I don’t think it is the world’s best).

So, what if they do catch it? Giovanni at the start of DP showed the viewers that he doesn’t even remember their names. Though one would say that in favor of new fans, that he wouldn’t know their names just like they wouldn’t, but what would Giovanni do if they did succeed? At the most, he would say something about how he finally recognizes them or something. Or he could fire them for incompetence being all of these years to catch one Pokemon. Yes, I said years because even though the people don’t age (though Brock’s brothers and sisters have shown to grow a bit like Forrest is Gym Leader in Brock’s or Flint’s place) there have been references to it being a good amount of time for certain events likes months/weeks for things like GF or Pokemon tournaments to take place.

I don’t know why TR would think that they would become stinking rich from doing one stupid thing. Like Jessie talking about becoming Queen of the Galaxy and such from winning one contest ribbon or Top Coordinator. I mean Top Coordinator might get you things like fame, endorsements, and other things like that. Wallace was Champion and Top Coordinator so it’s understandable why he is famous. TR needs to see the light, but since it is a cartoon it needs cheesy villains I guess…

When you see what they usually use for their machines to capture Pikachu, you can see that they are too well made to be cheap, and the day they are made, they are most of the time destroyed, like cardboard stuff. Perhaps they have an account specifically for their incompetent use of money?

I never actually see their damages as threatening, since I don't remember a time when their damages is the focus of the episode (correct me on this one).

The toys they buy. After all, they blast off all the time, so can't be tracked to pay for collateral damage.

How about this for example; Sunnyshore City lighthouse (I think that was it a giant rocket or something), it caused blackouts, the leader had to rebuild the gym or something to that nature and it took a year for Ash and the gang to come back and get the badge acorrding to some sources. Its incredible all of the momentary damaged they caused as well as time for Ash and friends.

I highly doubt it was a whole year. What? Paul, Barry and Conway waited a whole year to enter the Sinnoh League with Ash? Doubt it.

It was in the summary for DP 177 on Bulbabedia episode summaries, you should check it out. Though it may refer to the time on our schedule like episode releases. It talks about how in Japan Snowpoint Gym was the only one that Ash challenged and won in 2009. So, it was referring to our world not the Pokemon world.

I think that Pokemon league competitions are held every year just like the GF.

I'm actually surprised after all these years and epic fails that Giovanni hasn't fired the trio. I mean we all know he can't stand them, the main reason he sent them to Hoenn, but what is the real reason he hasn't fired them?

I agree there is nothing that should keep them in employment with all of their failures and such. The reason that they were sent to Hoenn was to as you said get away from Giovanni and possibly be gotten rid of. He also mentioned that he wanted to know more about Aqua/Magma. You can say what you want, but I feel that Giovanni has something big planned and we don’t know about it yet.

Giovanni feels that they are his most expendable agents even though he doesn’t even remember who they are.

Yeah and i always find it funny how Team Rocket always thinks one simple pokemon is gonna make them his favorites.

The things they buy. Its kinda suprising how they have an unlimited amount of Mechas and Balloons and how they make it that fast. The only damage they cause is probably very little compared to the explosions they had before.

Just imagine Team Rocket actually catches Pikachu and send him to Giovanni

Giovanni sends it back for being weak

Jessie: Well, what do we do now?
James: There goes 10 years of our lives

Well, this is funny :XD2:! I guess they will feel bad for wasting too much money, and feel good for their adventures.
