This is so stupid…

Ok! You and a pokemon are fighting until one of you is knocked out or in some other way unable to fight. Flying pokemon can fly but can’t just fly away. Swimming pokemon will just float in the air like they do in the games. Apply any game, anime, or real world logic you need to to make your case. What do you think is the pokemon with the highest base stat total you could beat under these conditions? Please just try to keep discussion civil and not too graphic.

I’ll save my actual picks for later, but as what I think to be a pretty average guy, I’d say I cap out at a few in the high 400s to very low 500s. Emphasis on few.

nothing that's higher than 300 BST. anything higher is approaching second evolution if not second evolution already for some pokemon, which is pushing it for what i think most people who aren't skilled fighters are capable of taking on, imo (depending on the pokemon, of course).

like, there are even some pokemon that i don't even think i can take on that's 300 or even less than that. beldum, for example -- its metallic body means that there's no way any regular human is hurting it -- geodude is another example, unless one is allowed to splash water on it. if we're relying on pure fist fighting without utilizing anything else, that would probably be where i'd hit my limit, since i'm not bothering to fight any pokemon that has an extremely tough physical composition.

I don't really see myself beating any Pokemon packing anything above the most basic physical attacks like Tackle. And even that is doubtful - in real life even a small animal can give a human trouble, and that's without any powers :hmm:

I think I'm gonna go with Spinda, at 360, but only a low level Spinda that doesn't have access to TMs. It's pretty short and weighs like nothing. I could pick it up and throw it around until it can't fight back anymore. I'd feel bad, but it would be doable. Once it's level 19 or 23 depending on the game and gets Hypnosis I'm out no questions asked. And by out, I mean taking a nap.

That said, I don't think I could take on most Pokemon in a similar stat range. I'm basically relying entirely on the fact that it's small and it's low level movepool. Larvesta has the exact same stat total, but I wouldn't wanna fight a level one Larvesta because it can set me on fire. There's not really any range where I feel like I can take on most Pokemon, though? Like maybe the "exactly 200 or less range" is mostly doable, but some of them do come with built in hazards at a very low level, so even in that range it's a little hit or miss. I can be poisoned, and that can lose me a fight. It's very simple.

Hmmm… perhaps I misjudged my abilities lmao. Upon further review there is no pokemon above 500 that I could beat, and very few above 400. But I do think there is one I have a shot against. Alcremie at a bst
of 495 is made of quite possibly the softest material ever, being whipped cream. It’s literally made of whipped cream, so it’s not like I have to actually physically hurt it like I would a more animalistic pokemon, I could kind of just shift it around until it wasn’t an alcremie… or eat it. It’s also one foot tall and weighs nothing, so I could just punt it. The only problem is that it’s decently strong. The strongest thing it could throw at me is probably dazzling gleam coming off of 110 special attack. We don’t have dazzling gleam in the real world, so I have no idea what this would do to me. The protagonists of LA and PLZA can take one, but that’s a video game. Assuming either:
A. I get to alcremie before it can fire dazzling gleam (it’s a middling 68 speed so this might be dicey.)
B. I somehow dodge the 100% accurate dazzling gleam then get to alcremie. 100% accurate doesn’t always mean 100% accurate in the legends games.
C. I tank the dazzling gleam and have enough strength left to get to and topple a large pile of whipped cream.
…then I could beat alcremie. I wouldn’t want to, because alcremie is cute, but I think it’s somewhat doable.
