From a Japanese image board:

http://f44.aaa.livedoor.jp/~karimasu/up/futaba.htm

It also appears the pic was posted like today! Some people on SPP think it's a new special.

It may always be the special that's supposed to air there in February, but I wouldn't bet on anything

Assuming you mean the second image there... O_O....

I could SWEAR that's an adult Misty.

They couldn't ACTUALLY be doing an 'All Grown Up' special... right? RIGHT?

Yeah, I do mean the second image.

Anyway, the messageboard also has some fanart pieces on it (One that has freaked me out).

So, this could be fanart, but if it is...then they need to work for OLM.

For clarification...what image are you talking about?

Also, there is no schedule planned to air in February in Japan.

The image I posted in my first post. Maybe it isn't showing up on your computer, but it is the second image on the page. It has three girls lying in the grass, talking to each other, and then Pikachu is in it too.

EDIT: I think Greatliver means that episode with Misty in it everyone thinks is Mastermind that is supposedly gonna be shown next year.

The part about the special airing in February was mistranslated. Everyone saw "February" on PokeAni and assumed that the special was airing in February 2007, when what the text really said is that Kasumi's VA recorded her voice for a special this February (2006).

Anyways...nobody on that site seems to know what the image is. They speculate that it could be a 16-year old Kasumi, but there's really nothing known about that at this time.

That poor Kirlia...

Anyway, the blue-haired women looks like that lady from the first movie who talks about legends and tears and other fun stuff that set the plot.

An... interesting set of images, but likely a fan creation, possibly a manipulation of similar-looking characters in other shows.

Those screens appear to have been photographed from a video playing on a television however. Reading what was said, it sounded to me like this may have been a dream sequence from some old ep, perhaps that little child as a CotD having some sort of fantasy with "Kasumi-nee-chan"?

I don't think so, I have never seen pics of that at all, and I really can't think of anytime a scene like that has happened.

Well, I haven't seen all of Advance or Johto, so I can't be sure there. In any case, both those older girls look very familiar. And the one with Kasumi style hair isn't giving me Kasumi vibes.

The only thing is...this doesn't seem to have been presented by someone as a way to fool people into thinking there's a special. If it was a new photoshop that they'd made, I'd be expecting them to be saying they've got hold of a leaked pic or something. Either this person dragged up an old photoshop, or it's real.

Johto would never have had a flashback like this, and that definately doesn't look like Hoenn quality animation, it looks more like movie quality.

I don't think it is the prophet though.

The clothes on the assumed older Misty are also fairly close to her post advance clothing too, so there's no way it'd be any older than that.

And since it's never actually BEEN in any episode, it's safe to say that it's not from an old ep of any description.

The young girl reminds me of Whitney in the third panel, but it probably isn't her.

If it is a fan creation, it's a really convincing one

The bottom middle picture definitely seems to indicate there is movement there due to the blurryness and the little girls right arm especially seems to have two frames overlapping :/
