Personally, I'd love to see a DVD or Blu-Ray release that has English and Japanese episodes with an option to interchange the BGM (i.e.: English dub with Japanese BGM, dub with dub BGM, Japanese with dub BGM, Japanese with Japanese BGM), like what the DBZ DVDs did. It might not be possible, but it's fun to imagine.

So, whether it be the main show, spinoffs, or the movies, what are your ideas for a perfect Pokemon home video release?

Well, just to give a few ideas:

Movie 1:
-Retrospective on pop soundtrack
-Tribute to Philip Bartlett Actually, he's still alive and was using an alias.

Movie 2:
-Retrospective on pop soundtrack/Tribute to Donna Summer

Those are the main ideas I have.

Is DVD releases there in America expensive? I'm not into DVD for a long time, and I don't go to those stores here... Still some years ago I used to buy lots of DVDs and stuff, however the price was like that: A single media with 3 or 4 episodes included, containing English dub (or not), no subtitles, and very if any extras for $20... For my born country's reality that's VERY expensive.
Some years ago they released Naruto containing the Japanese and English versions for a more reasonable price, yet the piracy won and you'd see mostly subbed (badly) Naruto DVDs (or other anime) in cons.

I personally just want to see further embracing of selling things directly on iTunes. When some of the more obscure series content is hard to make profitable on DVD releases, the distribution costs of putting it online are minimal in comparison, so there's less excuse over things like making HD versions available, and to have the extra features made available - even at extra cost, as a way to offset the cost of providing them.

Japanese with dub BGM

No company has ever released a show like that in the history of ever.

It wouldn't be too early or late to start.

It seems like doing something like that would be a waste of time. I highly doubt that there would be enough demand for them to think that doing something like that would be worth the time and effort. Not to mention the people who do want legal access to the Japanese version most likely wouldn't want them to mix the dub score with the Japanese version.

Anyway, putting more of the older series available on iTunes and/or Hulu would be good. The AG DVDs have been out of print for ages and I wouldn't have been able to rewatch the whole series if they didn't make the episodes available on iTunes. I still prefer physical releases over digital ones, so trying to improve upon the DVD quality would be good too, but looking more into legal online distributions for some of their older out of print DVDs would be good. The only other means of watching older seasons legally is on Pokemon.com and they have to change episodes every week.
